This collapsed breach was truly enormous—so large that even Zorah Magdaros could squeeze through it.
Logan did not know how this breach had come into existence, but if he wanted to sever Zorah Magdaros's final sliver of hope, then aside from finding a way to kill it quickly, there was only one other option: completely seal this breach shut.
Killing it quickly was somewhat difficult. Despite Zorah Magdaros looking half-dead at the moment, if it refused to engage and focused solely on escaping, Logan had no confidence that he could finish it off before it entered the Everstream.
As a result, cutting off the opponent's hope instead became the easier course of action.
Watching as the breath large enough to completely engulf his entire body drew ever closer, Logan showed not the slightest intention of dodging.
Large quantities of crystal extended from the massive crystal formation behind him, which was still continuously widening and expanding, bracing Logan's back and his wings.
The Terastal energy within his body rapidly gathered, causing his chest to glow with a dazzling ice-blue light.
Hiss—
The sound of effluvium being rapidly vaporized by extreme heat spread in all directions, as a plain, unremarkable ice-blue laser shot straight out from Logan's mouth.
The recoil force generated by this highly compressed laser made Logan's scales grind against the Terastal crystal behind him that served as a support frame, producing a shrill creaking sound.
The Radiant Crystal Butterflies gave off a faint glow, and began with all their strength to inject the Terastal energy they had stored—together with their own life force—into Logan's body, filling his energy deficit and accelerating the compression speed of that energy.
The laser and the magma breath collided not far in front of Logan.
The same high-temperature breath—when facing a magma breath whose attack range was several times his own—Logan's laser breath forcibly held it back.
At the point of collision, the laser diffused. Not only did it blast apart the magma, it even destroyed the energy structure within the magma, causing those high-temperature flowing materials to vaporize a second time.
The collision between breath and breath was, in essence, the purest energy confrontation between the two sides.
Very clearly, even though Zorah Magdaros had struck first, its magma breath was continuously shrinking in this confrontation, and the collision point of the energies was slowly being pushed in its direction.
In the air, this effluvium—which could withstand high temperatures—rapidly shattered and vaporized under this kind of energy collision. Seeing this, the Vaal Hazaks in the sky, although extremely pained, could at this moment only pretend not to see it. Aside from accelerating the spraying of massive amounts of effluvium from Zorah Magdaros's volcano crater to forcibly extinguish the volcanoes on its back and burrow deep into its energy organs, there was nothing else they could do.
As this energy collision continued, Zorah Magdaros's stamina was also being rapidly consumed, but it did not dare to stop.
In this kind of total energy collision, whoever stopped first would have to face the impact of energy that had been built up for so long.
Given its current physical condition, if it were to endure this blow, it would probably truly be unable to get back up.
Therefore, Zorah Magdaros could only desperately mobilize whatever energy it was still able to call upon, while helplessly watching as the ice-blue Terastal crystal sealed shut the entrance to that Everstream tributary. Not only that—even after the sealing was complete, Logan continued to thicken it without pause, truly leaving not the slightest opportunity.
Crack!
Under the massive mobilization of energy, coupled with the relentless erosion of effluvium, a huge wound suddenly split open along Zorah Magdaros's flank. Scalding blood sprayed outward, and when it fell to the ground, it even melted the pitch-black mud, releasing large amounts of white steam.
The appearance of this wound was as if it were a signal. One wound after another continuously surfaced across Zorah Magdaros's body.
And Zorah Magdaros's aura, together with the appearance of these wounds, began to decline without pause.
Logan suddenly felt the resistance to his breath lessen considerably, and his deep-blue eyes lit up.
Amid the cracking sounds of the Terastal crystal blocks behind him, the spines at the tips of his wings stabbed directly into them.
Taking advantage of the Terastal crystal blocks being connected to the ground, as Logan diverted part of his Terastal energy, he saw that beneath Zorah Magdaros, massive Terastal pillars shot upward from the ground like sharp spikes.
Like an enormous lance shaft, they pierced into Zorah Magdaros's chest, and amid a cascade of shattering sounds, forcibly lifted the opponent upward.
Originally, in terms of pure energy confrontation, Zorah Magdaros was already at a disadvantage. Now, this directly threw its balance into disarray.
As the Terastal pillars rose higher, they pushed from its chest up toward its neck.
With its head forced upward, Zorah Magdaros's breath went out of control, directly turning into a volcanic eruption spewing from its mouth, with thick smoke and magma shooting straight into the sky.
Meanwhile, Logan's laser breath—having accumulated an excessive amount of energy—silently landed on Zorah Magdaros's chest. Accompanied by massive clouds of smoke, in an extremely short span of time it actually pierced through from one corner of the volcano.
Zorah Magdaros!
This ultra-giant Elder Dragon that bore volcanoes upon its back, whose fire resistance was so high it drove countless fire-element monsters to despair, was actually pierced straight through the chest by this laser breath!
Amid a wail that sounded as if air were leaking out, Zorah Magdaros's body tilted its neck and crashed heavily onto the ground. Deep within the Rotten Vale, this triggered a small-scale earthquake, causing large quantities of coral and various ancient marine fossils to fall.
The laser pierced through the effluvium, shattered a massive coral platform, blasted apart the clouds in the sky, and only then rapidly dissipated.
On the Terastal crystal, Logan panted lightly, feeling the searing pain in his throat quickly subside under the effect of his Regeneration—which was only slightly inferior to Nergigante's. His entire draconic body gave a slight shudder.
A large swath of Radiant Crystal Butterfly corpses, having died after contributing their own life force, cascaded down in a clatter into the effluvium below.
Pulling his body free from the Terastal crystal, Logan slowly flew toward Zorah Magdaros, intending to check its condition.
Who would have thought that the moment he drew close, he would see Zorah Magdaros's pallid pupils suddenly contract. The entire dragon actually trembled as it propped itself up on all four limbs and struggled to rise.
Blood poured from the pierced chest like a waterfall, pooling beneath it into a crimson river that flowed toward the low ground.
Logan stared at Zorah Magdaros in disbelief. In his perception, Zorah Magdaros had clearly already lost all signs of life. Yet the constantly trembling limbs, and the right forelimb slightly raised as if about to step forward, were telling him that it could still move!
Taking a deep breath, Logan once again urged his energy. Terastal pillars burst from the ground again, wrapping around Zorah Magdaros.
This time, the restraint went extremely smoothly.
The Terastal crystal spread upward from Zorah Magdaros's limbs, enveloping its four limbs first, followed by the joints, the chest, the waist…
Only when it reached the base of Zorah Magdaros's volcano did it finally stop.
Looking out, at this moment, aside from the volcano, the rest of Zorah Magdaros's body was like a specimen, encased within Terastal crystal.
Only then did Zorah Magdaros's pair of pupils finally dilate completely, its eyes utterly losing focus.
The right forelimb remained frozen in a forward-stepping posture, utterly devoid of movement.
Until death, Zorah Magdaros still clung to its longing for life!
