As he continued to walk inside he had the troops fan out to check for danger. Even though he subconsciously knew that this mountain was now safe as it was his territory.
The hole in the mountain, the entrance, extended about 30 meters up and 20 meters wide. Inside, it widened quite a bit and became a huge and long tunnel. Jack and his troops went further and further inside without any change.
'This is a damn long tunnel…' Jack thought after a decent amount of time travelling down the tunnel. At one point he had taken out the three summoning stones as the light from the entrance had faded such as the tunnel was now pitch black.
The summoning stones gave off a decent amount of light and having those three stones spread out, allowed them to continue walking while still keeping track of the tunnel sides.
Finally after a long while longer, the tunnel began to descent. They carefully followed the tunnel-slope and ended in a cave that contained its own golden glow, allowing them to see every square inch of the cave.
[Unlimited Gold Resource detected. Guardians: 0]
Everywhere in this cave, the ground, walls and top was all covered in golden veins of pure gold.
Jack had finally reached his destination. Transferred to another world with the rest of humanity and gods knows whatever else kinds of sentient beings with lord systems.
'This is my home now' Jack happily thought as he looked around the gold-glittering cave.
"Harken, you will be in charge of the troops from now on. This mountain is our home now. I want you to post guards in this resource room at all times. Also post a heavy guard at the entrance, make patrols in the tunnel and further more, I want scouting parties in the outside perimeter."
Jack was decisive as he spoke. Now that he had his home, he would do his utmost to make it into something special.
"Yes Mylord. But with only 17 troops, including myself, I worry I don't have sufficient manpower to properly execute your orders" Harken replied with a standing salute, clearly honored to be given such a command.
Jack knowingly just smiled and told the troops to follow him up to the main tunnel again. As they gathered 10 meters away from the slope, Jack focused his mental energy and swiftly demolished four doorways 5 meters apart, directly into the mountain side.
In each doorway he continued to demolish the dense rock with his ability and slowly four small caves emerged inside.
There he put the [Human troop summoning portal, trash rank], the [Human civilian summoning portal], the [black mountain civilian summoning portal] and finally the [black mountain troop portal, epic rank]
Jack was satisfied with his work, yet very drained. He felt thirsty, hungry and very sleepy having expended so much mental energy.
'Maybe I will be able to do much more and not get so fatigued if my spirit power increases…' Jack nudged his head.
"I will give you all the manpower you need Harken" Jack said with a wide grin, despite his fatigue.
However, he knew he needed civilians, that endless goldmine was the key to get everything he wanted, and he wanted to start maximize its profits as soon as possible.
But safety comes first. Without a decent number of troops, he cant keep his home safe, he cant hunt for food or bring water inside.
Jack went to the black mountain troop stone.
[Epic Troop: Black Mountain Guardsmen. Price: Mithril x1000. Sulfur x2000. Gold Coins x100.000]
Jack couldn't believe his eyes! A hundred thousand gold coins? And rare resources in such high numbers? This is insane..
'I guess the rank of troops certainly is something extraordinary. Epic rank must be close to the very top of troop potential!'
Jack couldn't move for a second. He had hoped to summon a troop resembling something like that guardian outside. However thinking about it for a second he realized it would be absurd to have such a troop. Even extremely weakened, that guardian easily mowed down many of his trash troops.
Jack continued to the next small cave and had a look at the Black Mountain civilian summoning stone.
[Black Mountain dwarven civilian. Price: 100 Gold Coins]
'I wonder if any of the other lords gained another civilian by claiming their territory..' Jack thought the gods indeed had been generous to give him this territory.
With all the good drops from the Guardian and the strenght of it alone… It made sense that this area might be very hard to gain control over otherwise.
Moving to the next small cave Jack found a similar description.
[Human Civilian. Price: 100 Gold Coins]
Jack had a total of 5500 Gold Coins. It made sense to summon some dwarf civilians to mine inside the black mountain, and some human civilians who might not thrive as well in the dark, to live outside of it.
After all he indeed needed to try and scavenge some herbs, fruit or whatever he could find to cultivate a source of food. Wheat would be the best outcome, but finding seeds on Prime seemed somehow unrealistic.
And yet Jack knew he also needed to supply a substantial amount of Gold Coins to summon more trash troops. Having substantial forces, however weak they are compared to the Guardian, was vital. And they where cheap.
However that again highlighted the food issue. Even Jack himself was getting really hungry after not having eaten anything since he arrived, he didn't even have a drop of pure water yet. And now he would have increasingly more mouths to feed.
While weighing the pros and cons, Jack decided to save 2000 Gold Coins for the future, and directly spend 3500 gold coins on summons.
[1000 Gold Coins received. 10 Dwarven civilians summoned. Completion time: 100 seconds]
[1000 Gold Coins received. 10 Human civilians summoned. Completion time: 100 seconds]
[1500 Gold Coins received. 150 Trash troops summoned. Completion time: 25 minutes]
Jack and Harken standing with his troops, watched as civilians and new troops walked out of the small caves every 10 seconds and joined them.
