Under the influence of the Golden Dragon King's power, Niu Tian's ancient soul-beast bloodline began to stir. His spirit wavered.
For an instant, his immense body froze — and the God of Fate seized that fleeting opening. With a single thrust, the Ice-Fire Dragon Spear pierced straight into Niu Tian's chest.
The two-meter-long spear was minuscule compared with his thousand-meter body, yet once it entered, the ultimate yin and ultimate yang powers of the Ice Dragon King and Fire Dragon King erupted at once!
From the wound, Niu Tian felt his very blood boil, while his bones and flesh were wracked by a killing cold that threatened to freeze his entire body solid.
The Snow Empress followed immediately, releasing Emperor's Cold Heaven, shrouding all between heaven and earth in frost and snow — lending her own ultimate ice to support the God of Fate.
Di Tian struck again, his dragon claw descending from the sky!
Niu Tian twisted, shattering the ice that bound him, yet in that instant he understood: even having briefly stepped into the hundredth level, he was still no match for these three before him.
Without hesitation, he turned and shot toward Wang Dong'er. His massive ox-serpent body re-formed into human shape as he flew, a ghastly wound gaping in his chest — half seared, half frost-burned.
Niu Tian seized Wang Dong'er, cast a brief glance at Tai Tan, and then withdrew swiftly, vanishing from the skies above Mingdu.
After his flight, the God of Fate's strength began to wane.
"I'll go after him!" Di Tian said sharply.
At once, he tore open a spatial passage and disappeared within, pursuing Niu Tian and Wang Dong'er.
Jiang Shengyu and Jiang Qingtong released their Martial Soul Fusion, descending from the heavens. The Snow Empress caught each of them by an arm, guiding their fall until they landed safely.
Both of their faces were pale. Though Fate's Sacrifice had raised them directly to the rank of Soul Saints, and their Martial Soul Fusion Technique could momentarily reach Ultimate Douluo power…
Niu Tian, bolstered by the Sea God's blessing, had been far too strong. When he later stacked two blessings and broke through to Level 100, the sisters had felt the entire heaven and earth tremble!
The world of Douluo was no longer as stable as it had been ten thousand years ago. Through millennia of decline, its capacity to bear divine power had greatly diminished — and thus, the destructive might of a god-level being had grown even more catastrophic.
Moreover, Tang San's forceful infusion of his divine power into this world had made things even harder for those who now served as its current stewards.
To bear the grace of heaven and earth, yet also suffer its backlash — that was their present state.
Only now did the Snow Empress finally voice the question in her heart.
"Just what grudge lies between you and them… and the one behind them? That was a god's power. Do they stand under a deity's protection?"
"The Sea God — Tang San," Jiang Shengyu answered with a firm nod.
At that, the Snow Empress frowned, recalling the upheaval of heaven and earth from ten millennia past. The Sea God, Tang San — wasn't he the human who ascended to godhood back then?
Her confusion deepened.
"How did you come to cross paths with him?"
Jiang Qingtong sighed.
"That's a long story. In short, he's our enemy — and we've already torn the veil completely. Snow Empress, you don't have to involve yourself in this. For the sake of the Far North's safety, it would be better if—"
Before she could finish, the Snow Empress flicked her finger and knocked her on the head with a sharp thunk, scolding:
"Is now really the time for that kind of talk?"
Jiang Qingtong clutched her head; Jiang Shengyu scratched his as well.
The Snow Empress said evenly,
"We've already fought one battle today. There's no going back now — I'll walk this dark road with you to the end."
"Snow Empress…"
The two sisters were deeply moved. After all, this meant standing against a god — her resolve warmed their hearts.
The three walked over to Tai Tan. When Jiang Shengyu withdrew the Four Immortal-Slaying Swords, the Snow Empress immediately sealed him again with her ultimate ice, ensuring he could not break free.
Only then did she ask,
"What do we do with him? Should I just end him here?"
Jiang Shengyu's gaze fell on Tai Tan.
"What did Tang San tell you?" he asked coldly.
At the question, Tai Tan snorted.
"So you know quite a lot, boy! He said you two are villains threatening the peace of the Douluo Continent — trying to steal its destiny itself. That you must be destroyed. Judging from what I see now, he was right!"
Jiang Shengyu's voice was ice.
"Then let me return his words to him — exactly as they are."
After that, they spoke no further to Tai Tan. Looking around, they saw what had become of the Spirit Hall headquarters — once grand and magnificent only hours ago, now reduced to a flattened, bowl-shaped crater pressed deep into the earth.
To see the ruin of one's own life's work — no heart could take it lightly.
"Let's go back and assess the situation first," Jiang Shengyu said quietly.
Having made their decision, the Snow Empress took Tai Tan along, following the two sisters back to the tournament grounds.
The scene there was even more chaotic. The ground was littered with corpses — soldiers, sect disciples from the three former Douluo kingdoms, and students alike.
Heavenly Douluo moved swiftly across the field, searching desperately for any who could still be saved.
As for Yan Shaozhe and the others, they were nowhere to be seen; Kong Deming and Jing Hongchen had gone in pursuit.
Nearby, Jiang Feixin lay unconscious. Huo Yuhao remained at her side, refusing to leave, his expression grave. Meng Hongchen, Xiao Hongchen, and the others sat slumped against a wall, clothes torn and faces streaked with blood.
"How is Feixin's condition?" Jiang Qingtong asked anxiously.
Huo Yuhao's brows were knit tight.
"There's another soul inside her — one that's about to awaken. I managed to suppress it for now, but she's fallen into a deep coma and hasn't woken since. Even Heavenly Sound Douluo can't do anything."
"Can your teacher help?" Jiang Shengyu pressed.
Huo Yuhao blinked, momentarily stunned. Realizing who he meant — Electrolux (Elekes) — his surprise grew.
"Cousin… you know about my teacher?"
Jiang Shengyu nodded. Seeing this, Huo Yuhao stopped concealing anything and relayed his teacher's judgment to them.
"Teacher said the soul inside Feixin carries divinity — a god's hand intervened, binding that half-soul deeply to Feixin's own. If that soul awakens, Feixin will cease to exist. But if Feixin can turn the tables and devour that half-soul instead, she'll survive."
In short, there was nothing any of them could do to help right now.
Jiang Shengyu and Jiang Qingtong clenched their fists, silently cursing Tang San.
Not far away, Du Busi and Ning Haoyu approached. Jiang Shengyu clasped his hands respectfully toward them.
"Many thanks to you both, Sect Masters, for lending your aid. The Spirit Hall and the Sun-Moon Empire will not forget today's kindness."
Du Busi waved his hand.
"Too many unexpected things happened today, boy. Have you thought about how you'll deal with the endless trouble that's sure to follow?" he asked in a low voice.
"Don't worry, Senior," Jiang Shengyu replied with a steady nod.
At his side, Ning Haoyu bowed slightly.
"Young Master Jiang — no, Your Majesty — I have a request. I wish for the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect to relocate under the protection of the Sun-Moon Empire."
