Volume 1: Sunset
In a place engulfed in complete darkness, no soul could be seen, and no voice could be heard.
A pair of eyes glowed green, that cut through the darkness, casting a piercing light that illuminated the room.
The dim green light revealed the room, which was filled with old wooden shelves and a window at the end of the room.
Under the window was an old wooden desk and a wooden chair.
The shelves in the room were filled with clocks.
There were clocks of all kinds.
Big clocks, small clocks, new clocks, old clocks, pocket clocks, grandfather clocks, analog clocks, digital clocks, square clocks, round clocks and each and every single type of clock.
The man sat in the chair and read a piece of paper that was on the desk besides the ink and quill.
The paper read:
The light beats the darkness yet the darkness brings forward the light. The chains of light cannot be broken without the darkness being mastered first. A person must control the darkness for the light to extinguish it.
Do I let him master the darkness to bring light to the universe, or do I kill him before he consumes the darkness? Quite the conundrum, he thought to himself.
Or do I let the stronghold weaken and let the universe take its course, while I prepare the strongest to fight against the darkness?
I will have to reveal the existence of the darkness to distract the people from the secret the stronghold protects.
The man took out a calendar and circled the beginning of the thousandth year.
He put his hand on his head and his voice echoed in the darkness, "Everything begins this year. The Sun has started to set."
He looked out the void of darkness outside the window, which was filled with stars.
Because the room,
was floating,
in space.
