Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Elias Thorne (12)

After waiting some time, the girl voice disappeared, and did not appear in the room again, the silence in the room pressed down on them like a suffocating blanket.

After some time passed the yellow coloured member after a moment finally spoke

"Elias we've already covered everything that there is cover in the hotel, what do u say we go out now and hand in our experiences here in the report, after all with the IFA, aside from our team there are other who could resolve this we don't need to stress 'bout it"

Elias glanced at team member, and at Agnes, before saying resolutely

"We don't have that time anymore, and besides before the next team gets here, whose to say what happens to the fate of our still missing team member's, first we find them, then from there we will recoup and decide the next move"

The faint hum of the hotel's lights seemed swallowed by the damp air.

then Agnes hesitated as before she spoke. "but....but, what if it's a lure? You heard her, rituals, parents, the fourth floor. It could be bait."

Elias's gaze tightened as he looked at her

"If it is, then we'll deal with it. and weren't you so eager before jumping at the first opportunity to play heroine why the doubt now."

Agnes expression grew more nervous but she forced herself to speak

"no...no..i was only concerned about the girl, and the innocent people thats all"

The yellow‑skinned teammate muttered something under his breath, but took the lead as they head into the counter, entering it, they passed through a small door in the back, opening it a chill, gust of air swept out, carrying with it the faint scent of brine and something metallic — blood diluted in water. The three exchanged grim looks before stepping inside.

The walk was slow, agonizing. The iron floors creaked ever so faintly as though resisting their weight, and the light flickering above them cast shadows that seemed to move independently of their bodies.

As they continued they came across blood trails as if something or someone had been dragged on the floor, looking at the trail they seem to hear an agonizing scream from the victim.

When they reached the next door to the next floor further below, the doors where slightly opened as one lay unevenly towards the next door, it seemed as if something had slammed against the door causing it to be almost removed.

Opening the door, to the third floor, the sight that greeted them left Agnes and the yellow skin man, short of breath, it was a massive room, in the middle of the room lay a large artificial lake, which was flooded ankle‑deep with murky, dark‑blue water, rippling faintly though no wind stirred. And in that water stood the missing hotel residents — dozens of them motionless. Their bodies swayed gently as though tethered to invisible strings, half‑submerged as their head dropped slightly facing the water, their reflections distorted in the shifting liquid.
