After an hour, Sunshine had six circles humming with soft blue light and three empty cups of tea. Savini returned, and they went out to the main barn. They placed the devices in the corners of the roof beams.
Suddenly, the air was filled with voices.
"...and then I told him, I'm not moving until I get a salt lick!"
"Is it yellow grass day? I feel like today is yellow grass day."
"Can we eat something else? What happened to red grass or the green one?"
"My left hoof itches! I keep lifting it and making scratching gestures, but these slaves don't understand. When I get a chance, I am going to kick one of them."
Sunshine twisted her lips. Was this what it was like eavesdropping on the conversations between animals? It was unique, funny and eye opening.
