Ethan finally regained the ability to move.
After spending ten days confined to the bed, he slowly stood up and stepped out of the small room.
The moment he walked outside, loud voices reached his ears.
"Rebecca, when are you going to return the money? Boss said that if you do not pay ten silver coins today, we will lay siege to your house," a rough voice shouted.
Rebecca's trembling voice answered from the courtyard.
"I have a guest staying in my house. Please give me seven more days. I promise I will repay everything."
The thug sneered without the slightest sympathy.
"We do not care about your guest. Either give us the money or sleep with all of us. Your choice."
Rebecca's face turned pale, and tears rolled down her cheeks.
Many villagers had gathered nearby to watch, yet none dared to step forward. Everyone knew the gang's terrifying reputation, and no one wished to invite disaster upon themselves.
Ethan quietly walked out of the house.
