"Я не говорю по-английски" (I don't speak English.). The sniper stated as her eyes began to dart around.
"Я сильно сомневаюсь, что наемный убийца стал бы действовать в стране, где не говорят на местном языке, но ладно, пусть будет по-вашему." (I highly doubt an assassin would operate in a country where they don't speak the language, but fine, let's do it your way.) Adam replied making both the snipers and Emma's eyes widen in shock.
"You speak Russian?" Emma asked in surprise.
"I speak every language," Adam replied simply.
"Excuse me?" Emma asked in shock.
"It's one of the advantages of my neurolink, I can speak every known language in the universe," Adam explained this time, causing all the women's eyes to widen in shock.
[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Seriously?]
[1000yearsofdeath (Earth): Streamers like the ultimate interpreter. Kekeke.]
"You mean you can speak draconic?" Tephe asked eagerly.
"Axun si shilta" (Yes I can.) Adam said in fluent draconic.
"Actually, that raises an interesting question," Lorelie said thoughtfully before turning to Emma and asking, "How can you understand us? I'm so used to speaking with Adam that I forgot that Earthlings don't have universal translators."
"Because you're speaking English," Emma replied in a confused tone.
"I am?" Lorelie asked in shock.
"You all are," Emma replied while nodding.
"How?" Aphrodite asked in confusion before saying, "That's not how the universal translator works. It translates the words that the other person speaks into our native language."
"You're asking me?" Emma replied.
[[NOTICE.]] Adam, Rowena and Eri suddenly heard Spector announce before going on to explain.
[[I remotely upgraded all of your universal translators during the first night any of you slept aboard me.]]
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): It can do that?]
"You can do that?" Rowena asked in surprise, causing the sniper to look confused as Eri also wore a surprised expression.
"What?" Aphrodite asked.
"I will explain in a moment," Rowena replied before listening to Spector.
[[Affirmative, however you only received the upgrade for Adam's native language since your universal translators do not have the capacity to store every known language like Adam's neurolink.]]
"Is Lorelie's neurolink capable of that?" Rowena asked curiously.
[[Negative. She would need to upgrade her neurolink to the same as Adam's.]]
"Then how many more can you install in our universal translators?" Rowena asked.
[[Because of how it was designed to operate, I needed to change some of the core coding of your universal translators and this took up more of its internal storage.
Because of that and the fact that it wasn't designed to operate this way, your universal translators can store up to three more languages. However, I recommend that you allow me to install a neurolink in each of you, that way you can all learn to speak all known languages, plus it would come with other benefits such as not needing the earring for me to communicate with you.]]
"I see," Rowena replied before saying to Lorelie, "I will explain later since a certain assassin is listening to our conversation.
Lorelie nodded in understanding as Rowena looked down at the sniper and asked, "Shall we try this again?"
As she finished speaking, she once again jabbed her force staff into the sniper's belly as it released another bolt of electricity.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH," the female sniper screamed as she writhed on the ground.
"How am I supposed to question you if you pretend not to speak English?" Rowena asked with annoyance before continuing, "Either you start speaking English to make this easier, or I keep giving you electric shocks until you comply."
As if to prove her point, Rowena shocked her again, causing her to once again scream out in pain.
[Justiceistruth (Earth): Holy fuck. I'm starting to think I should learn English, just in case.]
[Emojisonly (Earth): 💯]
"Ok, ok, I'll speak, I'll speak," The sniper said as she gasped for breath through the pain.
"Good girl," Rowena said with a happy smile.
"What, what the hell are you?" The sniper asked again as she stared at Rowena with fearful eyes.
"Aliens, my dear girl, and if you don't answer our questions, we will torture you some more until we get the answers we desire and then take you back to our ship to conduct experiments on you," Rowena replied with an evil smile.
[Justiceistruth (Earth): Wait, is that actually a thing?]
[Superhearofangirl (Earth): Don't be stupid, it's probably another thing she picked up from a movie… I think.]
"What? What kind of experiments?" The sniper asked in panic.
"The kind where we use your body as an incubation chamber for our offspring and then once it matures, it bursts out of your chest," Rowena replied while licking her lips.
"I never should have let her watch that movie," Adam said in a low voice, making Lorelie, who stood next to him, giggle.
[Superhearofangirl (Earth): See.]
[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): She'll never fall for that.]
"You people don't actually do that, do you?" The sniper asked as her panic mounted.
[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): …]
"To our enemies and prisoners of war, we do, dear. After all, we need somewhere to breed our offspring," Rowena replied as her eyes focused on the sniper's belly.
"Eeekk," The female sniper responded as she began to look around in panic.
"Stop shocking the incubation chamber in case you damage it," Aphrodite remarked as she stepped beside Rowena and revealed her horns and tail.
"A DEMON!" The sniper shouted as her eyes grew wide.
"A what?" Rowena asked as her eyes glowed slightly.
"I'm well aware that I shouldn't damage the incubation chamber," Rowena replied before she jabbed the sniper in the leg with the force staff while sending out another bolt of electricity.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH," the female sniper screamed again as the electricity coursed through her and made her writhe in pain.
"Much better," Aphrodite said while nodding in approval.
[HackerSu (Trillion): Is it me, or are those two enjoying themselves?]
[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): Well, it's probably been a long time since they got to let loose.]
"Wha… why? You haven't even asked me any questions yet?" The sniper asked in pain.
"Oh, sorry, dear, I just needed to point out to this one that I know what I'm doing," Rowena said with a sweet smile while thumbing towards Aphrodite.
"Grandmother," Stacey said with a sigh before asking, "Can we concentrate please?"
"Yes, yes of course," Rowena replied before looking at the sniper while pointing at Emma and asking, "So tell us, young lady, are you with this group of kidnappers?"
"I'm not," The sniper replied while shaking her head before she continued, "I was hired separately to observe them and ensure that they succeed in their job. If they were to fail, then my orders were to assassinate the target."
"Hooo?" Rowena replied before asking, "Then who hired you? The same person who hired the kidnappers?"
"I assume so, but communication with the client was encrypted, so I don't know," The sniper replied.
"You're not exactly being helpful," Rowena replied with a frown, making the sniper swallow hard.
"How did you communicate with the client?" Adam asked.
"Through one of the websites on the dark web that is used to find work."
"Where's the computer you used?" Adam asked.
"I used my phone," The sniper replied.
"Rowena, if you would be so kind," Adam said as he looked at Rowena.
"Of course, darling," Rowena replied, flashing a flirtatious smile as she jabbed the sniper in the leg with her force staff, causing her to scream in pain as she was electrocuted.
"You know, if she keeps screaming like that, we're going to attract attention," Emma stated before adding, "This is a quiet community, as the owners are all rich and influential, because of that, I doubt they will like the idea of us torturing someone in the middle of the street."
"Spector?" Adam asked as he noticed the sniper's tear-stained eyes shine with hope at hearing Emma's words.
[[The local residents are currently experiencing technical difficulties in contacting the local authorities.]]
"It's fine, their communications are being blocked," Adam replied, causing the sniper to lose the hopeful look she had.
"So, care to try answering that question again? Because I know you didn't use your phone to access the dark web," Adam asked.
The sniper bit her lip and didn't respond, causing Rowena to jolt her once again and make her scream out in pain.
As he watched the sniper writhe in pain, Adam thought, {Are you able to use her phone's location services to determine where she has been staying?}
[[Affirmative. The target appears to have been staying at The Alamo Grand Hotel.]]
"Is your laptop at The Alamo Grand Hotel perchance?" Adam asked and seeing how the sniper's eyes went wide, he knew he was right.
"The Alamo Grand Hotel? That's one of the Morose family hotels," Emma remarked.
"I guess that's our next destination so that we can inspect her laptop," Adam replied.
"What do you want to do with her?" Rowena asked.
"I will entirely leave that up to you, darling," Adam replied, causing Rowena to smile beautifully.
The last thing the sniper saw as Rowena raised her force staff and fired a disintegration bolt at her was Rowena's beautiful smile.
