Chapter 474 - Chapter 5 - A Perilous Battle (I'm Serious)

"Could you tell me your reason for doing this?"

The girl, who had silently broadcast a message using the Flügel's unique method of communication, smiled radiantly at the youth who had dominated both a Dwarven and an Elven fleet in an instant.

The smile was exquisite, like a blossoming flower.

However, the flower was likely a spider lily—bloody, dangerous, and filled with menace.

"Is that even a question?"

As if looking at a Polish fool, the youth's fine eyebrows rose.

He opened his mouth and said, "In this world, isn't everyone fighting to claim sovereignty over the Star Grail, the symbol of this universe?"

"On a battlefield that has no need for morals, isn't it common sense for the weak to band together and kill the strongest?"

Hearing these words, Jibril's pretty little face turned icy in an instant.

The Flügel were weapons created by the God of War, Artosh, to kill gods—swords born to offer the throne of the One True God to Artosh.

As weapons, they held absolute loyalty to their master.

Jibril was indeed an anomaly who would unleash Heaven's Strike upon the God of War, but that did not mean she disrespected him.

Like her brethren, she revered her master with all her being.

At least, for now, that was the case.

Hearing this being, who was likely a new god, explicitly state that he would oppose the God of War, her eyes widened slightly, her gaze filled with a murderous intent so tangible it felt as if it had mass.

"To wish to be my master's enemy... what a laughable joke."

"If I could, I wouldn't want to fight your master either, miss."

The youth, who had never been fond of using force, smiled and scratched his head in annoyance.

This was a fact. The God of War's combat power was an enigma.

In the descriptions from the story, although he defeated the combined forces of all the other races single-handedly, he showed signs of fatigue, making it seem like his power level was contained at the planetary scale.

However, his official profile clearly stated that he was stronger than the One True God, Tet.

Stronger than the One True God who embodied and converged all the concepts of an entire world.

The reason was that combat itself was the source of power for Artosh's Divine Core. As his enemies grew stronger, so did he. Even if faced with the One True God who embodied all rules, he could still fight on par with him through sheer combat experience and a surge of divine power.

That guy's power ceiling...

Was a single universe.

If he didn't need the Star Grail—an object capable of serving as a vessel for his Law—to become his holy relic and then his "Seat," allowing him to overwrite the multiverse, Li Zihan would have absolutely no interest in bothering with that guy.

Who wants to fight a bug-like character with an unfixed power level?

Isn't it just tedious?

Wouldn't it be better to be at home, eating hotpot and singing songs with his girls?

So, he might not be my master's enemy, but he is definitely an adversary?

Hearing the youth's words, Jibril's gaze grew so cold it could freeze space and time.

"Heh, to dare say such things before a Flügel, you truly have a sense of humor."

"Sometimes, jokes come with a price."

Without any hesitation, Jibril launched an attack on this god who had spoken so insolently of the God of War.

An immense amount of spirit particles gathered in her hand, forming a longsword of light.

She swung the sword, and the endless stream of spirit particles became a torrent of light, crashing down upon the youth she had just been chatting with.

The sheer force of it could easily be compared to Moses parting the sea.

In an instant, a deafening roar shook the heavens and the earth. An intense, exploding light replaced the sun, illuminating everything.

The raw power seemed intent on obliterating everything in sight, displaying the ferocious might of the god-slaying race to its fullest extent.

However, the person's response to this strike was merely to wave his hand.

A terrifying gale erupted, as if all the winds of the world had been gathered together, howling like a storm dragon as it blew away the light and heat from the Flügel.

"As expected of a God-Spirit."

Jibril wasn't angered that her attack was so easily blocked.

Even the higher-ranked races had their own pecking order.

The number one ranked God-Spirit Race was on a level completely beyond what other races could match. (Right, Tet?)

She flapped the wings that, from an aerodynamic standpoint, were completely incapable of supporting flight, and suddenly appeared behind Li Zihan. Her fist, wrapped in spirit particles, shot out like a sharp arrow, aimed directly at Li Zihan's back, right where his heart was.

A single hand-chop suddenly sliced towards the fist that was attacking its master, carrying the force of Moses parting the sea, as if to cleave the delicate Flügel maiden in two.

Jibril, clearly not intending to take the hit head-on, once again activated her ability, Heaven's Shift, and escaped the blade of energy.

"BOOM—!!!"

After Jibril warped away, the terrifying stream of energy extended for thousands of meters, cleaving the earth along its path and leaving behind a deep, gaping chasm.

Faced with such an attack, Jibril was utterly fearless. Golden spirit particles converged in front of her arms, instantly forming a dazzling, circular magic array.

The nested golden rings unleashed a powerful shockwave of light, causing the surrounding air to shimmer as if engulfed by a heatwave. Light and shadow blurred, and space itself began to warp irregularly.

A golden sphere of light shot out like a Dongfeng Express delivery, blasting towards the enemy before her, spewing forth explosive light and heat.

"As expected of a god-slaying race, I suppose? Their strength completely crushes an Emperor-class Honkai Beast, comparable to a Judgement-class one."

The youth clicked his tongue, feeling that the baseline combat strength of the Flügel was somewhat terrifying.

But soon, the expression on his face turned nonchalant.

In the end, the Flügel weren't too absurd. Their power was probably equivalent to half a Heretical God that actually had a brain.

The youth, whose impression of Heretical Gods was that they were all brain-damaged, stretched out his hand and called upon his Noble Phantasm.

Immediately after, a searing explosion lit up the horizon, glowing like molten iron yet possessing the brilliance of the sun.

The terrifying inferno easily dyed half the sky a horrific crimson-gold, surging across the world like a tsunami of lava. It swallowed the golden sphere of light and then rushed across the land.

Imagine the sight of the entire sky being thoroughly painted red.

The scene was enough to make even Jibril, a member of the Flügel, break out in a cold sweat.

Without using some special ability, she would surely die a gruesome death.

Jibril did not fear death, but she despised dying without accomplishing anything.

To die like that would be to fail as a weapon.

Therefore, I will use that.

Having made her choice, Jibril once again activated Heaven's Shift to escape the searing tide that had instantly crushed and engulfed her spell. She converted her entire internal structure into a neural network connected to the Spirit Corridors, drawing power from their source flow, compressing, concentrating, and condensing it.

An amorphous, wavering spear appeared in Jibril's hands. Its name was Heaven's Strike, the greatest and most powerful single attack of the Flügel.

If it could just land, even a god would be left battered and bruised.

With a conviction prepared for death, the Flügel named Jibril raised her spear.

And then—

Time stopped.

Authority of the Law of Time: The World.

As if taking a stroll, the youth walked through the frozen world and then clamped his hand around the Flügel's slender neck.

A single hand-chop fell.

Game over.
