CHAPTER 37: THE GOLDEN FAREWELL
The desert was unusually quiet.
As Shen and Ryulga prepared to continue their journey, a pillar of golden light suddenly descended from the sky.
A familiar figure stepped out.
"Nolan?!"
The prince smiled. "Good to see you too."
For a short while, the three sat around the campfire, sharing stories and arguing as usual.
Then Nolan's expression grew serious.
"I didn't come here just to visit."
Shen frowned.
"What happened?"
Nolan looked toward the horizon.
"I saw a vision. Your path leads somewhere dangerous."
Ryulga crossed his arms.
"When is it not dangerous?"
Nolan ignored him.
"The road ahead belongs to you now. Mine leads elsewhere."
Silence fell.
Shen understood immediately.
Nolan was leaving.
The kingdom needed him. The mysteries of his Golden Mage power needed answers. His journey was taking him in a different direction.
The next morning, Nolan stood ready to depart.
"Try not to die," he said.
Shen laughed.
"You first."
Golden light surrounded Nolan.
As his figure slowly disappeared, he looked back one last time.
"When we meet again, be stronger."
"You too."
A moment later, he was gone.
Only golden particles remained in the air.
Shen stared at the fading light before turning away.
"Well, let's go."
Ryulga smirked.
"The Arcane Commander won't defeat itself."
Together, they continued toward the distant ruins.
A new journey awaited them.
