Chapter 849 - Chapter 848: Nareth: With a Single Thought, I Can Break You

As Nareth hovered, the two Khrave Progenitors bearing black crystal spirals on their chests wreathed themselves in psychic energy.

A flash of color, and their withered forms grew ethereal, seeming to vanish from the source domain, from the Shadow's Sovereignty's lower deck.

The Khrave King and the other Progenitor exchanged a psychic pulse, understanding their intent. They let out a piercing shriek, drawing Nareth's attention.

The Khrave King raised his hands. A pillar of aetheric lightning descended.

Crackling thunder tore the air. Shockwaves rippled.

"I have fought Angron, face-to-face. His martial prowess was admirable." The Progenitor, his Warp Distortion eighty centimeters longer than the others', beat his wings and lunged at Nareth.

"I hope... you... do not... disappoint... me..."

Two bright, two dim, one near, one far, one left, one right, the strongest of the four Progenitors struck.

Nareth did not move. The "Mentor of Disorder's" gaze hardened.

Whoosh!

To the surviving Khrave and the four Progenitors, Nareth's form seemed to swell.

In an instant, he became a titan, the entire source domain beneath his feet.

Not a physical change, but a supernatural expansion in the aetheric realm.

The Khrave Champions' thoughts could not even form before their minds were crushed by the terrible will.

Bang, bang, bang...

A hundred corpses fell.

The Progenitors shuddered. Their tendrils withered, spewing foul fluid.

The two Progenitors hidden in the aetheric veil were hurled back into reality.

Bang! Bang!

They fell to one knee, their War Crowns turned towards Nareth's left and right legs.

The Progenitor who had fought Angron saw his three-meter Warp Distortion shatter into a cloud of psychic mist.

His withered form groaned.

Boom!

The Progenitor's resistance lasted less than a second before it was crushed by the terrible will.

Whoosh!

The lightning vanished, as if it had never been.

The first, the strongest, the ender of worlds.

The Khrave King's multi-jointed limbs writhed, no longer under his control.

His War Crown drooped.

He bowed.

He knelt.

"With a single thought, I can break you."

The "Mentor of Disorder," Nareth, surveyed the four Progenitors, their spirits crushed by his "Will Suppression," an ability specifically designed to overwhelm psykers.

"You..." the Khrave King managed.

The Primarch did not answer. Light and shadow flickered in his eyes.

Telekinetic force poured out, forming great hands.

As Nareth beat his golden wings, the four Progenitors, unable to control themselves, flew towards him.

Black mist rose from his right palm as he struck their withered forms.

His eyes were deep as he looked down upon the land of black mist.

In the seventh layer, the four Progenitors fell, one after another.

Nareth moved his mind. Threads of rules coiled around them.

The Khrave King, the terrible will's pressure gone, was about to unleash his psychic power when he felt his body bound.

The aetheric tide was silent.

He saw the other three Progenitors in the same state, and his heart filled with sorrow.

"We have destroyed countless worlds, devoured billions."

"Now, our race faces extinction..."

A shared, mournful sigh, briefly breaking through their bonds.

They heard each other's despair, which grieved them more than the decay of their own bodies.

Whoosh!

The rising black mist cut them off. They could not sense each other, nor their own Splinter-Webs.

At the same moment, in the source domain.

The Khrave of the four Splinter-Webs died, their mental networks burning away.

Nareth felt the lights of four web-ships go dark.

'As expected, the Kingdom of Disorder severs the Splinter-Web. Even without the Progenitors' deaths, their Khrave would still die.'

As he thought, he flew towards Battlefield Forty-One.

His telekinesis swept the area. Khrave Champions were hurled towards him, then deposited in a separate palace within the Kingdom of Disorder's first layer.

As the last Champion fell, the "Mentor of Disorder," Nareth, reached the golden space enclosing Battlefield Forty-One.

He raised his power fist, channeling his spirituality.

"I am the Agent of Order. By my will, Battlefield Forty-One is dissolved!"

The Hand of Order blazed with golden light.

Bang!

The golden fist struck the golden space with a shattering crack.

"You will all die!" The Progenitor beat his wings, his two-meter Warp Distortion descending.

Boom!

The dawn-light wall shattered.

Ethan was driven to his knees by the force.

"Do not worry. Your gene-father, Nareth, will soon follow you."

"Perhaps, he is dead already."

The Progenitor's voice, like rustling papyrus, was full of mockery.

The daemonologist Ethan's massive form shielded the "Conspirer."

The "Guardian's" broken "Sword of Dawn" was held before him. "Xeno!"

"Your kin have already been slain by my father!"

"Die!" The Progenitor swung his blade.

Ethan stared at the approaching blade, his eyes filled with unyielding will. Power surged within him.

He leaped, his sword meeting the blow.

The blades clashed.

Boom!

A frozen instant.

The dawn-blade shattered. The Warp Distortion drove towards the black armor.

Crackling, images flashed through Ethan's mind.

The poison-mists of Barbarus. Mortarion's arm, dragging his frail form towards the executioner's block.

His gene-father's hand, reaching out to him.

....

'Is this where my steps end?'

'I wanted to surpass the Death Guard...'

Bang!

It was not Ethan who fell, but the Progenitor.

Ethan stared, bewildered, at the kneeling Progenitor, wondering if he was hallucinating.

A golden light flashed before his eyes.

"Father!"

Ethan and the "Conspirer" cried out together.

Nareth nodded. He beckoned, and the Progenitor was drawn towards him.

He did not pause, flying towards the next danger he sensed.

One Progenitor after another was sent to the Kingdom of Disorder Forty-three "Conspirer" Captains successfully advanced to "Reapers."

Of the four who failed, three were saved in time. Only one was lost.

Nareth, gathering the others, nodded with satisfaction.

Considering the vast gulf in power between the "Conspirer" Captains and the Progenitors, he could accept the loss.

He looked at Arsena, who had emerged from Battlefield Three after assisting Thibault's advancement to "Reaper." "Order Adams's Chapter to sweep the battlefield."

Almost simultaneously, the deaths of so many Khrave, especially the Progenitors, spawned countless wraiths.

The Ghoul Stars and the source domain were filled with spectral entities awaiting collection.
