Explosions continued to ring out against the barrier surrounding the school. Azazel, Sirzechs, and the others watched the scene from the windows with solemn expressions.
BOOMM!!
Suddenly, a much larger explosion erupted from a different direction. Rias rushed to the window and stared at the blast with a cold look. Dark red aura of Destruction radiated from her body as she spoke, "That's the Occult Research Club!"
"These bastards! How dare they?!"
Rias clenched her fists tightly and glared at the rising smoke in the distance. She wasn't particularly worried about the others getting hurt. After all, everyone present was very strong, and Venelana was there with them. However, that did nothing to diminish the burning anger in her heart.
The Occult Research Club was the place where she had spent most of her time since coming to Japan. It was also the place where she had hung out with Yusuke at school. These disgusting terrorists actually dared to ruin it!
This was unforgivable. It was a blasphemy not only to her but, more importantly, to Yusuke!
All these disgusting, brainless terrorists deserved to die!
The black-robed mages were locked in combat against the combined armies of the Fallen Angels, Angels, and Devils outside the school building. However, they were steadily being pushed back. More and more mages continued to appear through magic circles. As soon as they materialized, they launched volleys of magic bullets and elemental spells at their enemies.
"Ho, it seems these people came prepared this time," Azazel exclaimed, clearly finding the chaotic scene interesting. He then thrust his hand forward.
In an instant, countless spears of light materialized in the sky outside the barrier.
The spears of lights rained down all at once at the same time as Azazel lowered his hand, and they showered down upon the magicians.
The terrorists panicked and hastily erected protective barriers, but the spears of light pierced through them without any resistance. In an instant, the magicians were completely eradicated.
The countless magicians' stiff corpses were now scattered across the school grounds. The once peaceful area had suddenly turned into a gruesome, bloody scene.
"This school is enveloped in a barrier. Yet despite that, they managed to appear inside it. There must be a transfer magic circle or someone inside who is connecting a gate to the premises," Azazel said as he lowered his hand. "They have specifically targeted that old school building. It seems that is their true objective."
"Hmm, let me guess... It must be Gremory Princess's Bishop, the Dhampir with the Forbidden Balor View," Azazel held his chin and spoke with a thoughtful expression. "Not a bad plot. They must have prepared some way to use it against us and freeze us in time. They are probably intending to annihilate us along with the school building the instant our time is stopped."
Preceding Azazel's gaze, magic circles began appearing at various places across the school grounds. They shone with an ominous light. From within these circles emerged figures identical to the magicians Azazel had just eradicated. More and more of them continued to appear without end, as if their numbers were truly infinite.
"However, it seems they underestimated their target and have failed. How interesting," Azazel said with a curious look on his face.
He was genuinely intrigued about who exactly was inside the old school building that managed to block such a vast number of mages.
"Grayfia, take everyone and go check on them," Yusuke suddenly stood up from his seat. He floated into the air in front of the window, watching the destruction outside, and spoke to Grayfia and the other women.
"We will handle the matter here."
"Alright," Grayfia gave him a curt nod without any objection. She immediately activated her magic power, which easily pierced through the multiple barriers around the room, and teleported everyone out.
"..."
The entire time, Sirzechs remained silent as he watched the interaction between Yusuke and Grayfia. He took a deep breath and inwardly shook his head.
'I need to move on.'
But was it really that easy to move on from a relationship?
"If what you said is true, then the masterminds will soon be forced to appear after their plan has failed," Yusuke said, giving Azazel a meaningful look.
"More importantly, who are these people?" Michael asked with deep concern in his voice.
"The Khaos Brigade," Azazel answered simply.
"Khaos Brigade?" Michael repeated, clearly, he had never heard the name before.
"I only confirmed the organisation's name and background recently," Azazel explained. "However, my Vice Governor Shemhaza has been keeping an eye on this suspiciously acting group for quite some time. It seems they are gathering dangerous individuals from all three major powers. Some Sacred Gear possessors who have already achieved Balance Breaker are among them. I have also confirmed the presence of several Longinus possessors."
Azazel revealed more information about the organization known as the Khaos Brigade.
Yusuke was also surprised. He had only learned about this information earlier when the girls brought Katerea to him and explained her background, along with the intel they had extracted from her. The way he looked at Azazel changed slightly. It seemed that he was not just an annoying, quirky, perverted guy after all.
"Their goal is?" Michael asked.
"Destruction and mayhem. It is that simple, you know?" Azazel replied, spreading his arms with a bitter smile. "They do not like the peace of this world. They are terrorists. Moreover, they are extremely ill-natured."
He paused for a moment before continuing, "The leader of the organisation is the most powerful dragon, even stronger than the Welsh Dragon and the Vanishing Dragon."
Michael's face turned grim. "...I see. The Ouroboros Dragon, Ophis, has finally made a move. To think that the Dragon God, the one who has reigned as the strongest since the beginning of the world, would create a terrorist organization."
"Yes, Ophis is the leader of the Khaos Brigade."
Suddenly, a haughty and arrogant voice echoed through the meeting room. At the same time, a magic circle emerged on the floor.
From the magic circle, a handsome man dressed in black and red attire appeared. His black hair was tied in a small ponytail, and he had sharp violet eyes, pointed ears, and pale skin.
"Greetings, everyone," the newcomer said with a fearless smile.
"So it was you, Creuserey Asmodeus," Sirzechs shook his head lightly and spoke with a rather helpless tone.
He really could not understand why the descendants of the Old Maous could not simply work together for the good of the entire Devil species. Instead, they continued to chase their selfish wishes and delusions of ruling the entire world.
They had neither the power nor the ability to achieve such a thing in the first place. In this world, there were far more forces than just the three factions. Some of the other mythologies were much stronger than the three factions combined.
By doing this, they were only dragging the entire Underworld toward destruction.
"Indeed, that is me. The descendant of the original Maou Asmodeus," Creuserey spread his hands wide and raised his head dramatically, looking every bit like a cliché demon king from isekai anime. "The members of the Old Maou faction have nearly all decided to cooperate with the Khaos Brigade."
"And our first act this time is to destroy this peace talk... and kill you all!"
What Creuserey said proved that Azazel's claim was true.
"So it is a full-scale feud between the new and old Maou factions. Devils also have their own difficulties." Azazel smiled and commented as if the matter had nothing to do with him.
"Creuserey, do you understand the meaning of your words?" Sirzechs stepped forward and asked.
"Sirzechs, it is exactly as I said. We are also taking charge of this attack right now," Creuserey glared at him and replied.
"Why?" Sirzechs asked.
"Why? Are you asking me why? Don't you already know?!"
Creuserey pointed furiously at Sirzechs and Serafall, his gaze filled with burning hatred and rage.
"You filthy, lowly thieving bastards stole our rights and titles as the original Maous! We, the descendants of the original Maous, are the only ones worthy of being the new Maous!"
"Yet you bastards stole our titles! You stole everything that should have belonged to us!"
"You defiled the sacred name of the Maous!"
"It should be us! It should be me who deserves to rule the Underworld! I am the True Maou! You bastards stole this from me!"
As he spoke, his face turned flushed red with rage, and his eyes glowed with pure insanity. "And now you even want to ally yourselves with those filthy, disgusting angels and fallen angels!"
"We will destroy you all and rule not only the Underworld but this entire world!" He suddenly started laughing, "With Ophis's help, we will destroy the world and rebuild it again!"
"We will be the ones to manage the new world."
Sirzechs smiled very sarcastically. "So you, who hate the idea of peace and coexistence between the three factions, gathered angels, fallen angels, and devil rebels to start a new world order."
"Talk about hypocrisy," Azazel added.
"What do you know?! This is all for the greater good!" Creuserey gave them a look full of disdain and declared arrogantly, "I will kill you all right here and now, make the other two Maous follow you to the grave, and claim the title of Maou Asmodeus for myself!
"Then, Ophis will become the god of the new world. It does not matter if the Dragon God is merely a symbol. The system, laws, and doctrine will all be constructed by us."
He spread his arms wide with a manic expression.
"Michael, Azazel, and Sirzechs, your era is over!"
Yusuke listened to the man's monologue for a while before glancing at Azazel and asking, "He has mentioned Ophis quite a few times now. I have a question."
"What is it?" Azazel asked.
"Is Ophis a female?"
To Yusuke, whether Ophis was a woman or not was far more important than a hundred Creuserey or whatever forces stood behind him. If the strongest being in the world turned out to be female, there was a real possibility that she was a yandere.
Just imagining the thought of having someone like that as a yandere made Yusuke shudder.
"The Ouroboros Dragon is genderless and ageless. It usually takes different forms each time it appears. The last time I saw it, Ophis had taken the form of a middle-aged man," Azazel answered. He found the question rather strange, but sensing Yusuke's seriousness, he gave a proper reply.
"A middle-aged man? Good."
Yusuke let out a clear sigh of relief. Fortunately, Ophis was not a woman. He walked past Azazel and stood directly in front of Creuserey, "Alright, enough with your stupid cliché villain talk."
"Kid, who are you?" Creuserey narrowed his eyes and asked coldly.
"You four don't have to make a move. I'll deal with him," Yusuke said, ignoring Creuserey entirely. He turned to Sirzechs, Michael, Azazel, and Serafall.
He had been feeling some pent-up frustration lately. This punching bag had arrived at the perfect time.
"You..."
Pa!
Bang!
Before Creuserey could finish his sentence, a loud slapping sound echoed through the room. His body was sent flying like a cannonball, smashing straight through the magic-reinforced window with tremendous force!
