"I was supposed to die, Young Master," Lyra continued as she relaxed her fingers, "but it said it always read the memories of the ones who stepped through its portal in order to keep up with the world and also measure the being that was going to inherit its power, to see if they were worthy or not," she explained. "I was found unworthy, that I was untalented, but it didn't kill me because of my memories of you and the other Wargraves."
Asher arched an eyebrow as he asked, "What does that mean?"
She stayed silent for a moment, then replied, "It said the Founder of the Wargrave family, the very first Primarch, was its Master's friend, and they all participated in the First True War of the Erased Era together."
Asher was shocked to the very core. Although he had never heard about the First Wargrave or Primarch, hearing that they had even participated in a war like the First True War meant that the Erased Era wasn't as simple as he thought.
