"That would never happen." Razeal answered almost immediately, not even giving Nerrisa's words enough time to fully settle throughout the Sovereign Hall. His voice was calm, almost lazy, but the intent behind it could not have been clearer.
There was no hesitation hidden beneath those words, no uncertainty that could be pushed upon, and certainly no opening for negotiation. Whatever game Nerrisa was trying to play, whatever discussion she believed they were about to have, Razeal had already decided he wanted no part of it.
The Dimension Eye continued floating silently beside his shadow throne, countless tiny stars shining inside its endless darkness, yet Razeal did not even bother looking toward it anymore. As far as he was concerned, nothing had changed.
