Chapter 71 – Finally Arriving at the Destination
Leaving the hotel, Dante smiled at Jasmine and said: "So, Jasmine, what was the place you scheduled to meet the seller, the representative of the building's owner?"
Jasmine smiled and said: "I know you wanted to finish everything quickly, so I chose a restaurant nearby. It's almost time for the meeting I scheduled with him."
Amber said excitedly: "Then let's go! We might end up late."
They then got into a taxi.
Dante looked out the taxi window, watching the city streets pass by in a blur of lights and movement. He thought: I think I should start buying some Bitcoins, but I can't overdo it or I might cause a butterfly effect that makes them lose market value. After all, a small change can alter everything. Besides, I need to take some time to buy shares of Jurassic Park or rather, the company that founded Jurassic Park. Let's see, even if I can't buy it completely, I should be able to become the majority shareholder of the company.
Dante sighed softly and thought: There are so many things to do, but it's kind of nice to have something to do to pass the time.
He then felt something poking his face. He looked and saw Amber poking his cheek with her finger, a playful grin on her face.
Dante smiled and said: "What is it?"
Amber smiled and said: "We've already arrived. You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn't notice the time passing."
Dante then looked and realized the taxi had stopped.
Dante said: "It seems I ended up thinking too much."
They then got out of the taxi, seeing that Jasmine had already finished paying the driver.
Dante approached her and said: "Then let's go, my ladies."
Jasmine smiled: "Yes, let's go."
They then took his arm and entered the restaurant.
Entering the restaurant, he saw a white man in a dark blue suit sitting at a table near the window.
Dante looked at Jasmine and asked: "Is this the man we came to meet?"
Jasmine smiled and said: "Yes, it's him. So let's go. After all, it's not polite to keep them waiting."
They then walked toward the table where he was sitting.
Dante approached him, extended his hand, and said: "Pleasure to meet you. I'm Dante. My girlfriend must have told you that I'm interested in buying your building."
The man stood up, smiled, and shook Dante's hand firmly: "Yes, she already told me about your interest. Pleasure, Dante. I'm David. Well, let's sit down and talk."
They then sat at the table.
David then looked at Dante and said: "So you're interested in buying our apartment complex at 2311 North Los Robles Avenue, correct?"
Dante said: "Yes, I'm very interested. Since we're here now, I'm a straightforward man and I don't like wasting time. So I'll be direct: what price are you looking for so we can close this deal?"
David smiled and said: "So you're a direct man. In that case, I won't waste your time." He then took a note, placed it on the table, and slid it toward Dante.
Dante picked up the note with the price.
Amber, seeing the amount, said in shock: "Three and a half million dollars!"
David said: "It's true that the price is a bit high, but the building's location is in an excellent spot, and you can recover that money in the future if you want to resell the property."
Dante said: "I understand. So what is the final offer that your client will accept?"
David smiled and said: "I see that Mr. Dante likes to negotiate." He continued: "Well, my client is willing to lower the price to three million if you are willing to pay the full amount in cash. So, what do you think?"
Dante said: "I think it's a good deal. I agree. Then I'll write the check. Did you bring all the transfer documents?"
Four hours later, Dante, Jasmine, and Amber left the restaurant with the ownership documents for the building in hand.
Dante said tiredly: "I really don't suit this office work. I really need an assistant."
Jasmine said tiredly: "I don't know how it took so long. He still had to call his client after everything and go through several confirmations until we finally managed to complete the purchase of the building."
Amber said: "Sister, you should get excited. Now we have our own apartment in a building that's ours."
Jasmine then looked at Dante and said: "So, what do we do now?"
Dante thought for a moment and said: "I think we should split up. I'll go ahead and check everything in the building and the apartment. Meanwhile, you two can buy the furniture the apartment needs and have it delivered. And after you buy the furniture, grab your things and meet me at the building. What do you think?"
Amber said: "Well, for me there's no problem at all. What do you think, sister?"
Jasmine smiled and said: "For me too. I don't see any problem with the plan."
Dante then gave a light kiss on both of their cheeks and said: "Then I'll go ahead and wait for you at the building."
They waved and called a taxi, getting in and heading off to do the shopping.
Dante then took a taxi as well. While looking out the taxi window, he thought: I wonder if Sheldon is so much more unbearable in person?
Dante smiled and said to himself: "Well, we'll find out."
After some time, the taxi stopped in front of the building.
Dante got out of the car and looked at the building in front of him, thinking: So we're here. Now let's see what's going to happen.
