"Where are you?"
As soon as the call connected, Nora Scott spoke coldly, with a hint of anger.
"Hmm?"
Pedro Langley, who was used to receiving calls from Nora, was instantly alert by her tone and promptly responded, "I'm sorry."
Nora snorted, "What are you sorry for?"
Pedro quickly replied, "I'm sorry for not being by your side when you needed me."
"Holding another woman in your arms, whispering sweet nothings—do you even have a heart?" Nora sneered, throwing a baseless accusation at Pedro.
Pedro was bewildered, "When did I ever have another woman in my arms?"
Nora turned over in bed and said matter-of-factly, "In my dream."
"..." Pedro was speechless for a moment, then admitted with a mix of crying and laughing, "It's still my fault for not giving you enough security. Will getting a beating help?"
Nora gritted her teeth, still angry, "Can't reach you to beat you."
Pedro chuckled, "Want a boyfriend that descends from the sky?"
"Hmm?"
