Chapter 223 - The Hearing Becomes a Fight

The tribunal opened on the fourth morning with the execution notice standing beside the writ on its own board. Nobody read the review into the record, and the presiding officer did not pretend the session was about a review.

Marek Sol came down the length of the hall at the same unhurried pace he had used the first time. Five bands stood lit on his forearms, and the sixth had not returned since Torrel Bend voted its enforcement share away.

The order was read to him on the open floor rather than delivered somewhere private. It vested execution authority in the champion seat under combined enforcement contributions.

Those contributions came from every city that had not yet voted to withdraw one. Four seats had held no vote of any kind since the writ was published.

Vasa counted those cities aloud for the record before the officer could move past the clause. Their enforcement shares were the entire legal basis for what the room was about to do.
