The morning intake line ran along the charity front. Nox walked into it carrying a clause instead of a weapon. Sir Owen's certified beds held the districts at his back, so he came to the door with paper.
Kendra had set her vanguard across the public approach before he reached the door. She treated the intake as a choke she could hold open, and she did not follow him inside.
"Frontage and both civic exits are mine, and whatever she does inside, the road out stays open," Kendra said, splitting her rank toward the two gates. "You go in as a patient, I hold the street, and she does not wall it off like she walled the field."
Jax took the freight side where the corridor met the depot road and set his stance across the narrow seam.
"I have the service exit, and I break any carrier link she runs out this side," Jax said, resetting at the corridor mouth. "She has sealed nothing yet, so send me the first thing that tries to leave wearing a wound."
