Chapter 91 - CHAPTER 91

C91: Mystery Man

Fortunately, what S.H.I.E.L.D. has seen so far are only clones.

Shaking his head, Li Ran no longer cared about S.H.I.E.L.D.

Before officially coming into contact with an intelligence giant that once employed Nick Fury, oversaw the Avengers Initiative, and secretly fought against Hydra infiltration from within, any concern on his part would be futile.

Therefore, Li Ran quickly shifted his focus back to the system in front of him. Glancing at the \[Legend] tally on the data panel, he immediately spent 10,000 legend points to exchange for a \[Bronze Treasure Chest].

\[Bronze Treasure Chest]—this wasn't Li Ran's first time exchanging for one. If not for the limitation of only maintaining two active clones at a time, he could've exchanged for two and enjoyed the thrill of a double draw, much like Deadpool gleefully breaking the fourth wall.

For now, he could only redeem one, so he chose to open the chest methodically.

A familiar white light burst from the system.

**\[Item: Invincible Poisonous Hornet]**

**Effect**: Poison

**Origin**: A deadly concealed weapon from the film *Eagle Shooting Heroes* (a parody of Louis Cha's *The Legend of the Condor Heroes*), it's rumored that anyone stung by it suffers unrelenting agony for a full day.

**Note**: The hornet cannot distinguish between friend and foe.

**Note 2**: The hornet targets the closest living entity.

---

**\[B-Class Card Fragment ×1]**

**Effect**: Fusion

**Introduction**: One of five fragments needed to synthesize a new B-rank character card. The fragment glows faintly, suggesting hidden potential.

---

Of the two items, one was interesting and the other passable. Li Ran accepted the result with muted satisfaction. Of course, the real anticipation lay in the final draw—his new character card.

---

**\[C-Class Character Card – Bruno Bucciarati]**

**Skill**: *Steel Zippers (Sticky Fingers)*

**Background**: From *JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind*, Bruno Bucciarati is the fearless leader of the Passione gang's hit squad. Driven by the trauma of losing his father to criminal drug trade and the cruelty of their unseen boss, he defected to support Giorno Giovanna in overthrowing their tyrannical leadership. His Stand, *Sticky Fingers*, allows him to place zippers on any solid surface objects, walls, even human bodies to open portals, conceal weapons, or dismember foes in nonlethal ways.

**Note**: The skill only functions on solid matter.

**Note 2**: "This scent... it's the scent of a lie."

---

Looking at the newly manifested bronze card, Li Ran's expression turned contemplative.

He had seen *JoJo's Bizarre Adventure*. There was no doubt that Stand abilities were profoundly versatile—some manipulating time, space, or even causality itself. While *Sticky Fingers* didn't directly affect time like *King Crimson* or *The World*, its utility in infiltration, escape, and combat tactics was immense. Opening a zipper through walls or across someone's arm? Brutal, but brilliant.

Still, the real game-changers—the time-manipulating Stands would likely require an A- or S-rank draw.

Reining in his digressive thoughts, Li Ran focused on the applications of *Sticky Fingers*. As far as utility-based avatars go, Bucciarati's Stand was a solid tactical tool—perfect for missions requiring precision and stealth. In other words, Assassin Brotherhood material.

**Riker's Island Prison – Visitation Room**

Wilson Fisk, better known to the public as philanthropist and to New York's underworld as *Kingpin*, sat calmly, his imposing figure dwarfing the standard-issue chair beneath him. The very presence of Fisk seemed to weigh down the air around him. Behind him, the prison guard averted his eyes and quietly stepped away.

Fisk picked up the receiver. His deep voice rumbled like distant thunder: "Report."

On the other side of the reinforced glass, Lester—better known as *Bullseye*, the assassin who once fought Daredevil on a church rooftop and nearly killed Elektra with her own sai gave a slight nod.

"As planned, everything's descending into chaos. Without your control, Hell's Kitchen's gangs are tearing each other apart. Turk Barrett tried to move into one of your abandoned corners. He didn't last the night."

A smile twitched at the corners of Fisk's lips.

"A crisis isn't always defeat. Sometimes, it's evolution. This city needs... pruning. I want partners, not fools who think violence alone is power."

Bullseye smirked. "And the Hand?"

"The Hand is like a severed limb," Fisk replied cryptically. "Madame Gao may still live, but without Nobu or Bakuto, she's lost her leverage. If she did betray us, then she has miscalculated."

Bullseye leaned forward slightly. "Should I—?"

"No. Just observe. For now."

The visitation time buzzer sounded, but the guards made no move to intervene.

"Let the chaos run its course. I'll return... when the city needs correction."

Fisk hung up and stood. His mere movement made the guards flinch.

---

As he walked the corridor, other inmates—some former enforcers of the Maggia, others ex-HYDRA members fell silent. They didn't fear his reputation alone. They feared the *event*—the brutal death of a would-be challenger found strangled with a shoelace the next morning. No one knew how Fisk had managed it under maximum surveillance.

Fisk's prison cell, unlike others, was immaculate. A faint hum came from bedside an old analog radio, a nod perhaps to his father's days. As the guards removed his cuffs and retreated, Fisk reached to turn on the device—

But then a shadowed voice echoed from the outer corridor.

---

"Wilson Fisk. From crimelord to caged lion. A man once feared by Daredevil, now reduced to scheduling visitation hours."

"Who are you?"

Fisk turned sharply. The hallway was empty, yet a dark silhouette emerged from the shadows—a form without detail, more absence than presence.

"That's irrelevant. What matters is what you desire."

Fisk narrowed his eyes. "I build with my own hands. I don't need help from phantoms whispering riddles."

"Even if... the Huoyun Evil God returns?"

At that, something flickered in Fisk's expression. He had read the classified S.H.I.E.L.D. report. The so-called "Huoyun Evil God" had single-handedly dismantled the remnants of the Chaste and fought Daredevil, Luke Cage, and even Iron Fist to a draw.

"You know of him?"

"I know much. I represent a deeper darkness. I come from Jiuyou."

As the figure vanished like mist, the radio beside Fisk sputtered into static. He stood motionless, processing what had just transpired.
