Chapter 126 - Chapter 127: The Sith Holocron

"Amir! What was that move just now? I want to learn it!" Millisyn ran right up to Amir again and kept pestering him.

"That?" Amir thought for a moment. "It's simple—start by learning to control your own power."

Amir had been thinking about it for a long time. He decided it was time to begin teaching Millisyn how to use the Force—and, while he was at it, get her the lightsaber she'd been dreaming about.

Since there was no immediate way to solve the dark side issue inside Millisyn, the best solution for now was for her to understand herself—learn to rely on her own will to control it.

Of course, the real teaching would be done by Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn. Especially his so-called "Master" Obi-Wan—Amir felt like the man had taught him maybe two lessons total, then claimed it was "to train his independent learning skills."

This time, he was going to make those two old masters stay busy.

"How do I practice? How do I practice?!" Millisyn asked impatiently.

As for how to practice… Amir didn't actually know. He'd never been a youngling. He'd have to go back and ask Obi-Wan.

"I've got a holorecorder for younglings," Ahsoka said.

Right—almost forgot. There was a former Jedi right here.

"Ahsoka~" Millisyn whined sweetly, leaning into the word like it could melt durasteel.

"Alright. I don't need it anymore anyway. I'll bring it to you later as a gift," Ahsoka said.

"Heehee."

By then, Amir had already walked over to the tail of the giant dragon slug. With a quick, clean strike, he sliced the Massassi crystal free.

"Let's see what this place is actually hiding," Amir said. He was looking forward to it now. A ruin this ancient and mysterious… it had better have something worth the trouble.

With the crystal in hand, the group walked to the circular floor array at the center of the room.

They slotted the Massassi crystals in one by one. When the last one clicked into place, the entire circular array lit up.

"Wow, it's so pretty," Millisyn said, spinning happily in the glowing pattern.

BD-4 hopped off to the side to take pictures. Amir had told it: whenever you see something new, snap a few shots.

At the very center, a cylindrical pillar rotated and lifted into the air. The smaller arrays they'd seen before didn't have anything like this.

As the pillar rose, what it carried came into view.

"This is—!!!" Ahsoka shouted in surprise.

"A holocron?" Amir said, confused. It looked very similar to the Jedi holocron Obi-Wan had given him, yet the feeling it gave off was completely different.

From it, Amir sensed a dense, heavy dark side presence—so strong he instinctively felt temptation.

As if it contained immense power. As if, once he possessed it, he could obtain anything he wanted and do anything he wished.

Amir shook his head, forcing the chaotic thoughts away, and looked at Ahsoka. She clearly recognized what it was.

"If I'm not mistaken… this is a Sith holocron," Ahsoka said. "I've only seen them in records. This is the first time I've seen one in person. All I know is that it carries forbidden Sith knowledge—and it's extremely dangerous."

"It's still loot. We're taking it," Amir said. "Millisyn, pull the crystals back out."

As he spoke, Amir walked forward and took the Sith holocron in his hand.

"It's time to leave. We don't know when those bugs will go berserk and come rushing back," Amir said. He hauled No. 32 up—still sprawled and unsteady—and started retracing their path. Ahsoka and Millisyn were both tired too, following silently behind.

Before long, No. 32 began to wake up in a daze.

After dumping the several-hundred-pound alloy brick down, Amir decided No. 32 needed modifications—at minimum, he couldn't be affected like this again.

Because there was no way Amir was carrying that kind of weight every time.

With no more resistance, the return trip was smooth. On the way, Amir—still unwilling to accept it—checked other empty arrays again. He even reinserted the crystals and tested them, confirming there was still no reaction. Only then did he leave, a faint sadness on him.

"The Sith holocron is more dangerous than we thought," Ahsoka warned again and again. "Amir, only Master Obi-Wan might know how to handle it. You must show it to him."

"I can feel it," Amir said. "Ever since I touched it, something's been trying to lure me. But I can still resist."

It reminded him of the voice he'd heard while trapped in the hallucination—the one guiding him forward. It didn't feel like it was only the dragon slugs' trick. That voice had the same kind of texture as the Sith holocron.

Either way, leaving was the priority.

Back aboard the Traveler, Amir changed clothes first and took a shower.

Only then did Millisyn realize her own clothes reeked—fishy, foul—and were smeared with dragon slug fluids.

"Wah!! My new clothes!" Millisyn looked like she was about to cry.

"It's fine. There's a washer. I'll make sure they come out like new," Amir said, comforting her as he stepped out—then promptly tossed the stinking Millisyn into the refresher.

Only after the three of them were clean did Amir power up the ship and fly out of the fissure.

Ahsoka returned to her own ship. She still had many missions waiting, and she had no spare time.

Amir decided to go back to Tatooine again—to discuss Millisyn's training, and to deal with the Sith holocron.

That cube-like holocron constantly gave Amir an unpleasant feeling, but he knew that studying it on his own would be extremely dangerous.

Travel was usually boring, but Amir and Millisyn didn't feel that way—because the moment they looked up at the starfield, their hearts felt wide open.

No. 32 sat in the co-pilot seat, continuing to read the panel in his hands and study how to fly. Millisyn leaned in the back seat, trying her best to look out at the stars.

Ahsoka took her lightsaber back from Millisyn's reluctant hands. Luckily, the little girl's memory was always excellent—after she ate a piece of cake, she forgot all about it.

"I want to learn how to fly too!" Millisyn suddenly blurted out.

"Sure," Amir said happily. Millisyn finally wanted to learn something serious—how could he not be pleased?

"You and No. 32 can study that training file together—"

"Ah… can I not study and just fly?" Millisyn asked Amir with those big, pleading eyes.

"No."

So much for being happy.

"When we get back, you're going to properly study the Force with Master Obi-Wan. No more running around," Amir said. "And if you do well, I'll help you build a lightsaber of your own."

"Mmm… okay…" Millisyn replied, face scrunched in misery.
