Kai Bright poured two glasses of wine, picked up his own, clinked it with the one Charles Seymour had placed on the table, then downed it in one go. With a loud bang, he slapped his glass back onto the table, speaking with heroic bravado, "There's nothing we can't get through!"
After saying that, Kai poured himself another glass, lifted it to his lips, and slowly took a sip. Before he could swallow, he heard Charles speak, "I have a son..."
Poof...
Kai spat out the wine, thankfully controlling it and turning his head, sparing Charles a wine-soaked face.
Charles was spared, but Kai was not; he was left coughing uncontrollably, his face flushed red, only calming down after patting his chest with difficulty.
"You, you... you have a son?" Kai's words were still in shock, and by the next sentence, his tone had quickly turned to anger. He reached out and pressed directly on Charles' shoulder, "How could you do this to my sister!"
