Kakashi teleported at the back of Apocalypse who was holding Jean but the man's eyes glowed with power as he turned towards Kakashi, thus Kakashi was forced to back off.
He still did not know what other abilities the men had and Kakashi would not be shocked to know that the man also could be able to fire eye lasers.
Kakashi thought,'From what I have gathered, his main power is to transfer his consciousness to another body and take their power. When he takes another mutant's body, he does not lose his previous powers and is this able to take more and more powers.'
While Kakashi kept an eye on Apocalypse, he took kept an eye on Kakashi. 'He is the one that is the most dangerous of them all. The rest would not be a problem but he has powers that even I am unable to understand. Should I take his powers instead of the other one?'
He looked at his bleeding stub of a hand. 'He even took out my arm. He is worthy to be my vessel.'
He looked at the masked human and asked, "What is your name mortal? You are worthy enough to have me know your name."
Kakashi did not bother replying. 'Yeah, I don't want to be worthy anyways.'
But someone else did. Tony said, "Oh boy since Creel is not here. I might as well do it. Big guy, the name of that mortal is Kakashi Hatake, the copycat ninja."
Kakashi gave him a side-eye as Apocalypse nodded at Tony.
Apocalypse then turned to look at Jean and said, "Impressive for a mortal to break the mind control that I placed. You are more powerful than your professor in the art of mind. I might just take your body instead."
As Apocalypse looked to probe Jean's mind with his own mind powers, he was surprised.
"Oh what is this? They are barriers placed in your mind by someone. How curious," he muttered but Jean heard him despite the pain.
'What is he talking about?' Jean thought in pain.
"These barriers seemed to be suppressing something, I wonder what would happen if I break them," Apocalypse muttered but before he could do so, Charles appeared with Kurt with a teleport as he shouted, "Don't do it!"
Charles looked slightly injured and tired. But he looked otherwise fine. The X- Men still gathered around him to check his condition. But Charles looked more worried about what Apocalypse was going to do with Jean.
Kakashi thought,'Something is fishy.'
"I would get you back soon mortal. But I have found something very interesting," Apocalypse said not at all bothered to see Charles free. He would catch him again with his power. He was more interested in the powerful energy that he was feeling from the girl that he was holding's mind.
Charles again shouted almost pleading, "Don't do it. There are forces that even you should not touch. If you play with the barriers in Jean's mind only catastrophe awaits us all."
At this time everyone was looking at Charles at what he was saying even Jean who was so confused about the situation despite being held by the neck.
Jean asked through gritted teeth gasping for breath, "You placed… barriers on my mind?"
Charles said with a sigh of regret and sadness. "I had to. It was the only way to save you from destroying everything. There was no other way."
Logan took Charles by his collar. "Charles what did you do?"
He was someone who liked Jean. They had a fling too that ended but he had felt that… she was not being herself as time went by.
"I had to do it. Logan. For our safety. For Jean's safety. For everyone's safety," Charles said with sadness and regret.
Apocalypse said, "Enough of your mumblings mortals."
He said as he reached out to Jean's mind and ripped apart Jean's mental seals but Kakashi was just waiting for Apocalypse to be distracted as he used long range Kamui and aimed for Apocalypse's head.
Apocalypse dodged barely but still lost his ear to the spatial vortex. He let go of Jean to focus on Kakashi but the deed was done.
The mental blocks had been broken on Jean's mind as instead of falling to ground she started floating.
She then stood straight and glared at Professor. "You sealed my memories and even my powers…"
Charles looked in fear at her that turned to sadness.
"Tell me what happened to my parents. Tell me!" She shouted as the temperature increased in the area. Sand started lifting.
Kakashi sensed the changes. 'So that's why my instincts were screaming at me from her. Her power is increasing at a rapid level. Barriers… did Charles place a seal to contain her powers? It seems so.'
Charles said with a sigh of regret and sadness. "You inadvertently caused a car crash as a child in 1975 using your telepathic powers. Your mother, Elaine Grey, died in the crash, while your father, John Grey, survived but rejected you, blaming you for the death. I decided to seal those memories to protect you from them."
Jean halted as tears streamed from her eyes. "You should have told me… you should have told me… Why did you not tell me."
"Jean your powers are very powerful. It would have doomed us all if I did not put up the barrier to limit your power as well as some of your memories. Believe me," Charles said almost pleading.
Jean looked at him and finally said as her eyes grew red. "Oh you are right on one thing professor… no Charles Xavier. You have doomed us all and not because of me but because of you."
