"Thunder and Lightning!"
With a light shake of his wand, an electrical pulse expanded outward, blasting away all the charging Cornish Pixies. One by one, they crackled with electricity, smoking as they slammed into nearby walls and the ground, unconscious before they even hit.
Two spells obtained from the Thunderbird.
Level 3 Thunder and Lightning and Level 3 Storm had always been useful magic, but both spells covered too large an area, so Sean rarely used them in ordinary situations. But that didn't mean these two spells weren't powerful.
Especially after Sean obtained Water Flow Control and Water Element Affinity talent from the mermaid wizard—combined with Storm, this spell could unleash astonishing power.
"Storm!"
Raising his wand high, a bolt of lightning shot from the tip, penetrating the fog above the maze. Under the audience's watchful eyes outside, the lightning exploded in midair. The already heavy clouds immediately churned, darkening steadily. Amid thunderous booms, fierce winds howled and torrential rain poured down.
Perhaps because the rain covered a small area, it fell hard and fast. Before long, large amounts of rainwater accumulated around Sean. But under the control of his Water Flow Control spell, the water automatically parted at the edges of his feet, whilst falling rain seemed to hit an invisible barrier, separating like a curtain and falling to the ground.
The water volume was about right. Fleur and Krum were catching up. Time to act.
Water Flow Control!
Raising his wand, the surrounding water immediately surged, forming a wave that rushed forwards, its speed increasing, its volume growing. Everything in its path was instantly destroyed.
"Roar!"
A Chimaera beast appeared ahead. However, before it could roar a second time, the wave slammed into it like a giant palm, smashing the Chimaera to the ground and rolling over it, knocking it unconscious without any resistance.
Sean stood atop a water current, carried forwards by its support, following the wave until the water began to freeze.
Crack Crack Crack...
(TL NOTE: Changing "Pain Extraction" to "Emotion Drain.")
Seeing the Dementors appearing ahead, Sean couldn't help but sigh. "What a production, even bringing out Dementors."
Waving his wand, the frozen water immediately shattered. Sean prepared to use the Patronus Charm to eliminate the Dementors ahead, but just then, he suddenly thought of a question: what would happen if he used Emotion Drain—obtained from Dementors—to attack these Dementors?
As Sean pondered, another Dementor silently appeared behind him, approaching without a sound.
"Expecto Patronum!"
White mist shot from Sean's wand, forming a silver serpent that circled around him before ramming into the Dementor behind him, forcing it to retreat quickly.
Sean stepped forwards, raising his wand towards the Dementor that thought it had an opportunity and lunged at him.
"Emotion Drain!"
Semi-transparent energy began drawing from the Dementor's body, forming a semi-transparent thread that flowed into Sean's wand. Unlike when used on people, what flowed from the Dementor was surprisingly pure joy and spiritual power, with no memories or chaotic elements.
As Sean absorbed the Dementor's vast joy and spiritual power, his Patronus was also affected. Its body gradually solidified, with scales visible to the naked eye becoming almost tangible. Even the Patronus's eyes slowly moved, revealing a hint of liveliness.
Hum! Boom!
A silver-white energy pulse burst from Sean's Patronus, instantly sweeping over the second Dementor's body. Faintly visible were silver-white flames flowing across that Dementor, burning its form.
As Sean's extraction continued, the first Dementor's body grew weaker and smaller. Finally, the Dementor's body dissipated into wisps of black smoke, leaving only the extremely tattered robe that fell to the ground, becoming a pile of black ash.
Dead? Drained to death?
This magic obtained from Dementors could actually drain a Dementor to death. Moreover, this spiritual power was so pure. Though non-renewable and not permanently increased, before this spiritual power was completely used up, his magic could rise a small level. This was already a significant boost.
Dementors are basically walking batteries. Excellent ones at that.
Crouching down, Sean collected some of the black ash left when the Dementor died. This could be studied thoroughly back home—perhaps it had some special uses.
After collecting samples, Sean's Patronus returned to his side, slowly rotating around him, making him feel warmth and hope. Obviously, though the second Dementor hadn't been killed, it had been completely driven away by his Patronus.
Boom...
Hearing rumbling sounds not far behind, Sean immediately knew Krum and the others must have caught up. No longer delaying, Sean turned and continued running forwards.
The remaining journey had no major difficulties. Magical creatures and dark beings at the level of Chimaera beasts or Dementors were the limit—anything stronger would be suspected of attempted murder.
As Sean went deeper, the maze exit soon appeared before him.
Was the third round this simple? It seemed those previous rumors were really just rumors.
With this thought, Sean cautiously walked out of the maze exit. However, contrary to his expectations, exiting the maze, Sean didn't see the Triwizard Cup. He only saw thick fog. Sean used magic to establish direction and continued forwards. As the fog gradually dissipated, Sean suddenly discovered he had arrived on a somewhat dilapidated and abandoned road. Continuing forwards a distance, as the mist cleared, a desolate town overgrown with plants appeared before Sean.
Simultaneously, a breeze gathered surrounding fallen leaves and withered grass, forming a notice board before him.
