Chapter 353 - Chapter 356: Those Eyes

After Scull was captured, Dumbledore imprisoned him directly in the Chamber of Secrets.

The place was a natural prison—those who couldn't speak Parseltongue couldn't open it at all. Currently, those who could speak Parseltongue to open the door either wouldn't go, couldn't come to Hogwarts, or were Dumbledore himself.

Moreover, Dumbledore had set up protections inside the Chamber. If anyone came here without his permission, he would immediately know, making it convenient for him to catch intruders.

Simply put, unless Voldemort came personally, no one could rescue anyone from the Chamber.

The three descended directly into the Chamber, arriving before Scull who was locked inside.

Since Sean hadn't removed the Veneno toxin from Scull, he had been suffering under the poison's torture for months. Even as a Wolf King, Scull's body had completely broken down under the toxin's torment, becoming thin and weak, looking like a tall skeleton draped in pale, papery skin.

Seeing Sean and the others arrive, Scull sneered mockingly.

"Judging by the time, it's almost the third round, isn't it? How does it feel with death approaching? Are you panicking? Want to ask me some questions?" His cracked lips twisted into a grin. "Too bad. I won't tell you anything. I'll watch you die!"

Scull had been placed under magic that prevented Veritaserum and Legilimency from working—clearly Voldemort's handiwork. As for Scull himself, he thought he didn't want to talk, but actually even if he wanted to, he couldn't. The magic also affected his own will.

Scull believed that by helping Voldemort when he was down, Voldemort should trust his loyalty. Unfortunately, Voldemort never fully trusted anyone. The only two exceptions were probably Barty Crouch Jr and Bellatrix Lestrange.

The former was like a son to Voldemort, while the latter was his mistress. These two were somewhat special to him, so he could give them the highest trust, but even then, Voldemort still had reservations.

As for Scull, a werewolf—one of the creatures Voldemort despised most—if Voldemort didn't desperately need manpower and subordinates who could do his bidding, he wouldn't just ignore him. He'd give him an Avada Kedavra and tell him to get lost.

Sean walked before Scull. He checked Scull's condition and gained new understanding of the Veneno jinx.

He could now turn Veneno into a chronic toxin, applying it to a target so the poison would flare up periodically but wouldn't immediately kill the cursed person—like a curse. If they didn't want to continue bearing this affliction, they had to act according to Sean's wishes. Only when Sean was satisfied would he remove the magic.

Of course, now wasn't the time to think about this. Sean didn't say a word to Scull. He directly reached out to grab the skeletal werewolf's head, pressing it to the ground. White halos appeared in his pupils, wisps of white mist filling his eyes. Sean borrowed Scull's eyes to view the images they had seen in the past.

Sean's spiritual sight ability wasn't something Voldemort's magic could defend against.

Or rather, to defend against spiritual sight required magic specifically for preventing prophetic abilities, and Voldemort obviously hadn't thought Dumbledore's side had such an ability. He hadn't thought to guard against it at all.

Images from Scull's perspective appeared in Sean's mind one by one.

First were scenes of Scull competing for the Wolf King position in the Greyback clan. Then scenes of Scull finding Voldemort. Followed by a series of slideshow-like images.

Barty Crouch Jr's appearance and departure—Voldemort hadn't told him where Barty went.

Sean observed carefully, wanting to see what conspiracy Voldemort had.

But gradually, somehow, images related to Voldemort became increasingly blurred. This was very abnormal.

Sean took a deep breath and intensified his use of spiritual sight.

Finally, Sean saw Barty Crouch Jr return with another figure. That figure was clearly terrified of Voldemort, and under Voldemort's command, Barty subjected this figure to the Cruciatus Curse for quite a while. Eventually, after sufficient punishment, Voldemort forgave them.

Sean wanted to see the figure clearly but couldn't—the image became increasingly blurred.

Just then, Sean suddenly saw Scull seemingly going somewhere full of ice and snow with Barty Crouch Jr and that figure. They met a person who first tried to escape but was caught by Barty and the others. They said something to him and finally placed a very advanced control spell on him!

Vaguely, Sean sensed that this fourth person must be very important.

Gritting his teeth hard, the halo in Sean's eyes blazed with light, even penetrating the white mist in his pupils. The blurred images immediately became clear.

Just as Sean was about to see the person clearly, those eyes appeared again!

Those eyes from the Wizengamot promotion meeting looked at Sean again!

Serious and cold, merciless and sharp.

Grunting, Sean instinctively wanted to exit spiritual sight.

But in that moment, Sean bit his lip hard. The intense pain helped Sean refocus his spirit. Two lines of bloody tears flowed from Sean's eyes, and the halos in his pupils were even tinged with blood. Sean successfully withstood those eyes' gaze and broke through the blurred images. Though only for an instant, Sean still clearly saw the fourth person's appearance—the one Barty Crouch Jr had placed under control magic!

Igor Karkaroff!

It was actually Karkaroff!

Suddenly closing his eyes, Sean shouted loudly to Dumbledore, "Professor Dumbledore, it's Karkaroff! He's been placed under magic by Death Eaters—he's been controlled!"

At these words, Dumbledore, Snape, and even Scull whose head Sean was pressing down, all changed expression dramatically. Without any hesitation, Dumbledore immediately turned and rushed out of the Chamber. Snape, regardless of everything, ran to Sean. Seeing the bloody tears flowing from Sean's eyes, his face rarely showed panic as he frantically took out numerous potions to feed Sean.

Just as Sean and the others had arrived at the Chamber, Karkaroff came before the Gryffindor common room, his face showing a slightly dazed yet sinister smile.
