[The City Gate.]
High upon the hijacked city walls, the oppressive red glow of the blood barrier cast a sickening light over the obsidian stone. The air was stale, reeking of dark magic and trapped despair.
"I am so tired of standing!" One of the guards yelled, leaning heavily against the battlements. He stood on the city wall, staring out at the vibrant, resource-rich land outside the barrier that they were forbidden to touch.
"Yes, it's not like someone will attack us when this barrier is active, even the Moon Goddess is powerless with this thing active." The second continued, his grip loose on a long, pulsating immortal-rank spear. The weapon hummed with a dark vitality, but even its power paled in comparison to the absolute defense of the dome.
A wicked, depraved thought crossed his mind. "I say we head back and enjoy some slaves, standing all day isn't good for the health." The second muttered with a smirk, imagining the tormented souls locked within the castle dungeons.
