Chapter 16 - 15

Mount Justice, September 30

Wally was walking calmly through the cave. Megan and Conner were watching TV and Aqualad was on the computer. Robin and Artemis would arrive later in the night, as they had night patrol. Wally was by day and Robin by night. Sometimes Wally would join Robin in Gotham, there was more to hit everywhere.

"It looks like this will be a quiet night," he muttered and then cursed. "Idiot, never say that," he chided himself, knowing that he should never say that.

The silent alarm went off on Kid Flash's wrist, alerting that there were intruders.

"Intruders!" he shouted before one of the doors exploded in fire, alerting those present that they were being attacked.

Superboy jumped at the attackers, while Miss Martian tried to use her powers. Kaldur had drawn his waterswords to fight.

"Here Kid Flash to the rest of the team, we are under attack. I repeat, we are under attack," Kid Flash said as he watched his attacker.

Kid Flash ran towards his attacker but had to back away when a flame almost hit him head-on. He had to run around his opponent to get him to consume all the oxygen, but the teammate attacked from behind with high-pressure water.

"Kaldur, take care of the water with Megan. Conner with me against this fire bastard," Kid Flash ordered as he recovered from his blow to the back. Conner roared as he managed to land a hit on the fire robot that looked like a Red Tornado clone.

"Why do these two look like Red Tornado versions?" asked Conner angrily as he got back up from the attacker's punch.

"Unknown to me," Wally growled as he tried to cut the bastard Robot, but he attacked him again with a flame of fire. Wally threw a lightning blade, embedding it in the robot's shoulder, which he had to remove after a small shock, but not enough to disable it.

"How did they get into the cave undetected?" asked Megan as she stayed away from the fire and helped Kaldur with the female robot that controlled the high-pressure water.

"That doesn't matter now, we must defeat these two first before asking questions," Kaldur remarked earnestly as he used his powers to redirect his enemy's water.

"Reinforcements coming in," Robin remarked as he hurled his batarangs at Wally's enemy, and Artemis fired a foam arrow to control the fire. "Robin, Artemis, help Conner. I'll support Kaldur," Wally said as he loaded his right hand with beams, skipping his weights without wasting any time.

Kaldur threw a slash with his sword, but the female Robot dodged as he threw more water at him and Megan, keeping them fighting at long range. "How do you have it?" asked Kaldur.

"I'm not at my best," she said. Megan wasn't very capable in physical battles, nor were there things to use as weapons for her.

The female Robot was about to attack again with a high-pressure jet of water, but it stopped when an arm loaded with lightning pierced its chest. Kaldur and Megan were shocked when they saw Kid Flash pierce the female Robot's chest.

Wally pulled his arm out of his opponent's chest as he dropped the female robot's carcass. Wally put his right foot forward and let it fall the female robot's head, ensuring that it would not get up again.

"Conner, back off," Robin shouted as he threw his explosive batarangs. The male robot seemed to be out of control and the cave was slowly running out of oxygen.

"We must evacuate this place before we drown from lack of air," Wally commented earnestly as he could see the oxygen levels drop in the cave, which was not good for them.

That's when Red Tornado appeared.

But before anyone could say anything, everyone felt sleepy. Little by little they closed their eyes. "Bastard," Kid Flash muttered as he attempted to charge at the fire robot, but a Tornado struck him, dropping him into Morpheus' domain.

"Kid Flash, upstairs." Wally heard someone call him and instinctively hit whoever called him. Luckily it was Batman, who narrowly dodged the attack.

"Don't worry, the threat has been removed," the Dark Knight commented, touching his cheek where he had a small cut from Wally's punch. "Red Tornado showed up and sent us to sleep," he said seriously.

"I never expected him to be the mole," he murmured calmly.

"Wait, there's a mole?" said Conner, looking at Wally, who stood calmly and dusted off his jacket. "Of course there is, why do you think Kaldur talks to the League so much?" said Wally calmly, looking at Robin.

"The League's systems were disabled, but they had no knowledge of our own defenses," Robin said as he went through everything.

"Wait, you have defenses of your own?" asked Green Arrow.

"Well, that shortens the list," Wally muttered as he went through his things.

"What are you doing?" asked Dinah, but she tensed from Wally's angry look.

"I'm going hunting," he growled angrily.

"Those cans don't come in here and leave like nothing," he growled as lightning danced in his hands. "I'll destroy them, melt them down, and turn them into cup holders," he said as he clenched his fists, more than angry at losing to those machines.

"This is a League issue," Batman said.

"Don't with me!" shouted Wally, tensing those present. Wally stood in front of Batman and the two looked at each other without taking a single step from each other.

"We warned you to keep Red Tornado out of the cave and you didn't. This became our business when you become so arrogant as not to control your own forces," Robin commented next to Wally.

"Red Tornado is a member of the League, the League has more priority," Captain Atom commented seriously. Robin and Wally's look made it clear that they were not happy with those words.

Wally looked at Batman seriously. Wally's hands clenched into a fist. Many thought he wanted to punch Batman in the face, which looked like it was going to happen. "You've got this one, Batman," he said as he calmed down.

"But if this happens again, we will not stay on the sidelines. The League has lost a lot of influence by allowing this failure," he commented seriously.

"What does that mean?" asked Batman seriously.

"Just as there are League matters, we will take our own business, whether or not they are to the liking of the League," Robin remarked seriously as he walked away.

"From now on, anything that might affect the team must be approved by more than half of the team, whether it's a new member or some new rule of theirs," he stated seriously.

"That's kind of overblow," Dinah took a step but stopped as the dugout's defenses kicked in and pointed at the League, which tightened. Robin pulled out his cane, Wally's blades were in his hands.

"Then try to change my mind," Wally commented seriously, while still looking at Batman, who remained just as serious.

Batman knew they wouldn't come out of a fight against the team well, mainly because of Wally and Robin, who seemed more than ready to go head-on against them, and that was troubling.

"Very good, but the League will solve this," Batman commented seriously.

"But you have a mission first," he commented seriously.

A few hours later.

"Well, the mission wasn't too bad," Robin remarked as he watched Conner's huge wolf next to the sphere.

"It seems that this place becomes home for those who don't have it," Wally said calmly.

"Do you think this attack has to do with the mole?" said Robin seriously.

"No," he replied after a minute to his friend.

"If it were like that, those things would have finished the job. Red Tornado got them out of here for a reason I don't currently know, but there's a traitor out there, he's not on the team," Wally said seriously.

Robin opened his eyes when he understood his friend's words. "You say the mole is Roy?" he asked seriously. "There's no one else," he assured him seriously.

"But why him?" he asked, still not believing what he heard from his friend about another old friend.

"yes, he got angry at the league," Robin said, connecting points and dropping to the ground as he thought about everything.

Wally put a hand on his oldest friend's shoulder. "He always gets angry when he is refused to join the League," he commented seriously.

"And it puts a lot of pressure on a mole. Sportmaster told him that in Taipei, but he didn't tell me anything and every time he's on a mission, the Shadow League is related," Wally said earnestly as he clenched his fists for his other friend.

"Wait, are you implying that ours is a Clone?" he commented seriously.

"It may be possible. Roy has been acting weird for a few months before the team was created. His persistence in joining the League increased fiercely," he commented seriously.

"But we don't know where they have it," Robin said seriously.

"Unfortunately, we still don't know if what we say is true or not, but to create Conner it was only a few weeks, they could impersonate any of us, but the least notable would be Roy for his emotional state. You and I are under constant surveillance by our protégés, they would have noticed any sudden change. Kaldur is most of the time at Atlantis, but Roy tends to work more alone time," he said seriously.

"But why Roy?" asked Robin seriously.

"There's someone behind all of this, someone who wants their pawn into the League," he remarked seriously, and Robin only grew more serious.

"How do we prepare?" asked Robin.

"For this time, my friend, I have no idea," Wally commented sadly. I had no idea how to avoid a disaster like this.

Robin just fell silent, thinking about his friend's words. Something big was coming and they had no idea when it would happen.

Central City.

Wally headed home so he could relax a little. His parents were visiting the rest of the family across town, they would be back in two days. His talk with Robin had left them with a bad taste in their mouths. Roy, Aqualad and Robin were his oldest friends, knowing that one could be a traitor was something that affected anyone.

Wally went into his house, drank a glass of water, but stopped. Something was wrong, someone had touched his things. The Hawaiian statue in the kitchen had been moved five inches from where he had left it in the morning.

"I don't know who you are, but if you go out now, I'll just break your legs, but I'll let them keep going for later," Wally commented as he pulled his knives out of his ring of greed.

"Wow, you really are fast," commented a female voice that Wally easily recognized.

"What's up, Flash Boy? Did the cat eat your tongue?" Jade asked with a sneer, as she looked at Wally, who remained calm.

"Those are my chocolates," he commented when he saw his favorite chocolates in Jade's hands, who looked at his hands and then at Kid Flash.

"No," she commented.

"You're a terrible liar," she commented as she took a soda out of her fridge. "Just to know, did you poison my food?" he asked.

"No, I didn't come for your reward, Savitar," she commented as she sat down on the living room couch. Wally sat on the other side of the couch calmly, not seeming worried that a murderer is next to him in his own home.

"So, I'm very curious to know why a known killer is in my house eating my favorite chocolates," Wally commented curiously. He set his drink down on the small table next to the couch.

"You haven't seen your reward recently," she asked, looking at him with a raised eyebrow.

"As far as I know, it costs 20 million because of Cobra, Penguin and I don't know who else," he commented calmly. Wally didn't know why they were talking about his reward, especially when she laughed as if they were telling her something funny.

"That's an old price," she said with a smile, and Wally looked at him curiously. He was caught off guard when she straddled him. Wally's blade was already on Jade's neck.
