Chapter 39 - The Architect of Fate

North End Cave or Northern End Cave is the initial starting point of the novel 'Overgeared' where the protagonist 'Grid' started his journey as 'Legendary Blacksmith Pagma's Successor' began.

The North End Cave was located at the North end of an island. It was concealed by a complex algorithm. It was one of the five forbidden zones in Eternal Kingdom.

Unlike Eral Ashur, who might not know if 'Pagma's Rare Book' existed, but Arthur as a transmigratior knew this very well thus giving him great advantage.

As every transmigratior his aim is also mess with the protagonist, and snatching his opportunities but he didn't want to take the opportunity of becoming 'Pagma's Successor' as it may be his last chance to turn over a new leaf in real life.

Besides if he claim that book then the 'Future' he knows will be totally derailed. He needs Grid to be Pagma's Successor more than anyone.

But taking away a few wives is within consistence, right?

Anyway Arthur will leave Jushika and Marie Rose for Grid, so he won't die single and there will be no cat fights In future as he will be taking Yura for himself.

Arthur noticed that several players were watching him when the 24 man knight squad escorted him towards his journey to Northern End Caves. Some were jealous, some were angry, some were even envious.

Arthur observed them and smiled, which make them even more angry. In the middle of this, he also found Grid, looking at him enviously.

A sudden idea came to his mind, then he stopped. Knight captain Darius asked, "Sir Arthur, is there any problem?"

"No no. I just meet an acquaintance, let me greet him first."

"Youngwoo-ssi, Here!" Arthur said and waved towards Grid who was among the croud of players. Hearing familiar voice, Grid quickly ran towards him. This might be his opportunity!

"Hey Arthur! How are you? Are you in middle of a quest?" Grid asked excitedly.

"Yeah. By the way let me introduce you, this is knight captain of Partain Sir Darius, and Sir Darius, this is one of my good acquaintance, adventurer Grid. He may seems weak and have a questionable personality, but his tenancy is tremendous. Once he gotten a quest, he will complete that no matter how hard it is so, if Sir has any good quest, please consider him." Arthur introduced them to each other.

Being recomemded by Arthur, Darius noted down Grid's name and appreance. While Grid, first frowned after hearing the tag 'weakling' and 'questionable personality' but after hearing about his 'tremendus tenancy' he is very happy that Arthur have introduced him to big shots and fortune may be on its way.

Both of them are unaware that they are pushed into a deep shit pit by Arthur. Actually, he was little afraid if his actions may cause butterfly effect on the plot, so he made a link between Eral Ashur and Grid.

Knight captain Darius and his squad will surely tell Eral Ashur about the good wepons and armours along with Pagma's rare book, which Eral Ashur wanted for his eldest Son.

Also that only an Immortal adventures can take the things from there. He may also recommend Grid, Arthur's good acquaintance for this quest. As Arthur is inclined towards "lawful good".

Now Grid is a weakling, greedy and have some personality issues, there's no doubt about it but his tremendous tenancy, make him best candidate for the quest.

Eral Ashur, while with his suspicious personality, will have someone follow him in dark and monitor his actions in case of betrayal. NPC's may not able to take them but they can prevent accident with ease.

To Eral Ashur, Arthur may be a good person and benefactor but there is no reason that his aqantance is also a good person. There are countless people who wear masks and hid their true nature deep inside of them.

This way the plot will flow as the same way it should be. In this way, his hands stay clean along with his words.

Without any delay, Arthur said goodbye to Grid and went on his way towards Northern end cave with the knight escorts.

His heart started to beat wildly thinking about 'Pagma's Successor' and Pagma's Apprentice in same guild. The world 'God' (Morpheus) will burn it's curcits surely.

After 5 days of struggle, the group reach the end of the labrynth. Arthur and the Knights that escorted him were able to witness the overwhelming sight.

Various kinds of battle gears and rare items were displayed in many places. The whole cave were filled to brim with these.

They had experienced the hardships of the cave, as the difficulty was very high as Lvl 300+, however, because of the knights were Eral Ashur's personal guard squad their ability were somewhat competent.

There were some injured on the way but nobody died and the bonus of all Arthur is now Lvl 172. On the fights Arthur participated actively and defeated some monsters. His level jumped from 159 to what it was now.

Out of courtesy and guilt of the injured knights, he never took any drop items or money and donated everything to the escort group and promised to do the same in return journey. The escoet group were also happy having some extra money for booze and brothel of course.

The fights on the way were not only benificial for Arthur only, but the level 250+ Knights also received 8-10 levels on this journey as they were the main force of this party also there was still return journey was waiting means more level grind, more monster drops, and more money!

After experienceing the dangerous journey firsthand, Arthur was able to realize this, it was mentioned in the novel that for three months; Grid had experienced all the hardships, deaths, and many of his items were destroyed after their durability reaching zero within the Northern Cave Labrynth.

Arthur set aside Grid for now and looked around the northern End Cave. There were countless battle gears and rare items.

If a normal player gotten a couple of these, he/she may become rich by selling these or, hunted down by PK'ers untill they dropped these items upon death.

Arthur picked a random battle gear and hold it in his hands. A message window popped out instantly.

[Conditions aren't met! This item can't be obtained.]

'The same as novel. You have to become Pagma's Successor first to obtain these items.'

The knights also rushed in and they have had it harder. As NPC's they can't obtain anything. The sadness on their faces tells everything.

When they put the items on bag Or run out of the display Hall while carrying, the item would return to the original spot like a mirage.

In the end the Knights could only stare at the items with longing and sadness. Satisfy only started for a year. If someone could obtain all these gears at the very start, the game's economic balance might crumble.

Arthur ignored them and started to find 'Pagma's rare book'. A few minutes later he found what he wanted on a shiny golden table.

"Everyone be quite for a moment!" Arthur said loudly.

Arthur then raised his hand and signaled the knights to stay put and not to touch anything avoiding any mishaps in his planning.

The knights nodded in understanding and remained in their position. Captain Darius joined him to observe what's he up to.

Arthur tapped his finger on the book then nothing happened but he didn't took the book only touched the cover with his hand.

'Ciel, as planned do your work as I don't want to change Grid's destiny as I don't know the consequences of doing that.'

As the plot of the Novel was centered around the protagonist, he have already laid out his plans to capture key positions and personnel ahead of Grid and devour his luck but he will not take away everything as this legendary class is the key forward to let the story unfold twards the direction he knows from his previous life.

Arthur already thinks that karma may bit him if he'd done too much injustice towards Grid as the world's destined protagonist, the world would be favourable to him more than anything. So Arthur decided not to provoke the main plot armour 'Pagma's rare Book' where everything started.

[You have acquired a old craftsman's book!]

[The book isn't in a proper state. Special Item 'The eye of Pallalian' is needed to properly check the item.]

Seeing the system prompt, Arthur have a grin on his face. As if he'd use an 500,000W item on appraisal where 'Ciel' is with him.

"Ciel."

Appraising the book is not a problem for Arthur as Ciel has the sub-ability, Analytical Appraisal.
