The system's voice echoed through the endless void, calm as ever, yet this time there was something different within it, something subtle that felt almost…knowing, as though it had been waiting for this exact moment all along.
For the briefest instant, it even felt as if the system itself was smiling.
Daniel did not hesitate.
He no longer needed time to think.
He no longer needed to question himself.
"Yeah," he answered, his voice steady, carrying a certainty that had not existed before.
"What I truly wanted all this time… is freedom."
The word did not feel abstract anymore.
It felt absolute.
"All those things I've been chasing," he continued, his gaze lifting slightly as if seeing beyond the void itself, "becoming the strongest, having a family, protecting the people I care about, even conquering worlds…none of those were the end."
His voice deepened, not in tone, but in meaning.
