After fulfilling Kahn's request, the Face Mother departed with the Wolf Spirit, and the forest returned to its tranquil state.
Having lifted Rafa's curse, the siblings felt reborn. For them, life ahead truly began anew.
They decided not to return to the Northern Water Tribe for the time being.
Though it was their homeland, it had offered them few happy memories. Now, before age caught up to them, they planned to travel the world.
In truth, Misu had journeyed far in search of a cure for Rafa, but at the time, she had no time for sightseeing or enjoyment.
Now, Rafa wished to properly repay his sister.
Both were immensely grateful to Kahn but weren't sure how to express it.
Misu offered him a scroll of Waterbending techniques she had secretly learned in her youth, hoping it would be of use, and promised that if he ever needed help, they would do their utmost.
Having made their vow, the siblings left Forget-Worry Valley, embarking on the next chapter of their lives.
In the end, only Kahn remained, standing alone in the wind, mind swirling.
Ursa is Noriko, and Noriko is Ursa. Simple, clear—but it completely overwhelmed Kahn.
Noriko and Noren were not only husband and wife, but they also had a daughter, Kiyi.
In other words, Kiyi was not only his half-disciple by convenience, but also Azula and Zuko's maternal half-sister.
Moreover, though Ursa had disappeared all those years ago, legally she was still Ozai's wife, making this even more complicated.
And now…
If Noriko is Ursa, then who is Noren? Could it be Ikem? If not, where had this new character come from?
Kahn had no idea how he would explain this to Azula. "Your mother remarried? You have a new sister? Your mother may have committed bigamy?" Did Fire Nation law even have a crime for that?
The sheer weight of these revelations shattered Kahn's fragile worldview, leaving him dazed for a long time.
After some fruitless contemplation, he chose to stop overthinking.
His mission was to find Ursa and uncover the truth behind Ozai's usurpation; all other matters were better left for later.
Yet, since Noriko was Ursa, he had no choice but to visit the Noren family again to learn the full truth.
The thought gave him another headache. He had considered visiting before, but certainly not under these circumstances.
No choice—he had to go.
Kahn reluctantly returned to Hira Town, reflecting on past interactions with the Noren family. He noticed new details.
Though he had met Ursa once, and subtly explained his purpose, her reaction at the time had been natural, like a stranger's.
This seemed strange. Perhaps her acting skills were exceptional, or perhaps another factor was at play.
Looking back, Noren had promised to share everything he knew, yet he only recounted mundane information and trivial gossip.
Meanwhile, Ursa—or Noriko—had inadvertently revealed key information about the spirits in Forget-Worry Valley, ultimately exposing her identity.
These inconsistencies indicated that hidden truths remained.
Still, Kahn was not in a hurry. The person in question was right there. He could ask directly and, if necessary, reconsider later.
When he arrived at the Noren household, he felt nervous but forced himself to knock.
"Ikem?"
The door opened to reveal Noriko. She showed only slight surprise, then recognized him, returning to her usual warmth and inviting him inside.
"Long time no see. You've grown taller and more handsome. Come in."
"...Hmm, okay, thank you."
Kahn hesitated, staring into Noriko's clear eyes, ultimately saying nothing.
Kiyi, even after half a year, immediately recognized Kahn as the older brother from before. She was overjoyed.
Caught up in the child's lively spirit, Kahn relaxed slightly.
Though Kiyi was Azula and Zuko's maternal half-sister, to him, she was just a cute little girl, his half-disciple by convenience.
Noren was not in the house. Noriko explained he was working with the town's theater troupe. Kahn decided to visit him there.
Noriko seemed to remember nothing of the past. Perhaps when the Face Mother altered her face, she also erased memories.
However, Noren's past behavior had seemed unusual. Perhaps he knew more than he let on.
At the theater, it was neither a weekend nor a holiday, so the troupe performed only small plays, with few audience members.
Kahn informed the staff he wished to meet Noren. There was no dramatic scene—staff went backstage and soon, Noren appeared.
Noren's acting skills had been flawless. Even with Kahn's prior visit, nothing had aroused suspicion.
Now, with the Face Mother's endorsement and solid evidence, no acting could hide the truth.
"Long time no see, Kahn. Have you found Ursa and them yet?"
Noren greeted casually, as if speaking of a stranger.
Kahn knew probing was useless. He decided to get straight to the point.
"Long time no see. But I don't know if I should call you Noren, or Ikem?"
Noren froze. He wanted to explain, but seeing Kahn's serious gaze, he said nothing.
His warm smile gradually faded, replaced by a bitter one.
"It seems you already know."
"I think this time, we really should have a good talk."
