"Yuki, don't move," Kazuki said, his voice trembling slightly. "I sense tremendous chakra from that room, it's probably the highest amount of chakra I've ever felt in my entire life."
Kazuki quickly flowed his chakra into the paper seal Akari had given him to alert her of the emergency.
The very next second, Kazuki drew his sword to block a blindingly fast attack aimed right at his neck.
The person who attacked him was a kunoichi, but she wasn't using a sword or kunai. She was fighting with large, cat-like claws that were incredibly sturdy, strong enough to easily handle a direct block from Kazuki's sword.
She had long blonde hair, piercing black eyes, and wore a Kumogakure headband on her forehead, clearly showing where she was from.
She pressed against his blade for a split second before jumping backward, creating some distance between them.
She looked at him with a mix of surprise and curiosity. She thought, 'How can a child survive my attack? He didn't even use any sensory ability to detect me, was that pure survival instinct?'
She stood up straight and crossed her arms. "Interesting," she said with a smirk. "What are Leaf shinobi doing out here in the Land of Lightning? And has the Leaf fallen so much that they are sending children on dangerous missions?"
Kazuki was still holding his sword tightly, sweating a little as his mind raced. He recognised her immediately.
'Yugito Nii, the Jinchuriki of the Two-Tails,' Kazuki thought in a panic. 'Out of everyone in Kumogakure, why did I have to run into her?'
Just then, a voice came from the entrance of the research lab behind Yugito.
"Lady Yugito, I've prepared the scroll!" A crazy looking scientist emerged from the room, holding a sealed scroll tightly in his hands.
Kazuki's eyes immediately locked onto the scroll in the scientist's hands. That was their mission target.
"Yuki!" Kazuki called out her name sharply.
Yuki didn't need any further instruction. She immediately started making rapid hand signs.
'Water Release: Water Bullets'
Several high speed bullets of made of highly compressed water shot out of her mouth, heading straight to hit the scientist. But before the bullets could reach him, three Kumo ANBU suddenly appeared in front of him and blocked the attack with their swords, protecting the scientist.
Kazuki stepped back and whispered, "Yuki, we're outnumbered."
He quickly handed Yuki the tracker seal so Akari could find her, then slammed his hand onto the stone floor.
'Earth Release: Mud Wall'
A thick wall of stone erupted from the ground between them.
Kazuki quickly made a shadow clone. Immediately after, he used his Mind's Eye of the Kagura to completely suppress and hide his own chakra.
Yuki understood the plan perfectly. She and Kazuki's shadow clone immediately turned and ran toward the opposite side of the tunnel. Kazuki, meanwhile, silently jumped up and hid himself on the ceiling of the dark.
A moment later, the earth wall broke open with a loud crash as Yugito smashed through it.
She looked at the three ANBU. "You three stay there and protect the scientist," she ordered. "I'll take care of the kids."
She immediately started running after Yuki and the clone. To make sure the plan worked, Yuki used more earth walls in between them as she ran, trying to block the path and isolate Yugito from Kazuki's actual location even more.
Once Yugito's presence faded down the tunnel, Kazuki quietly dropped down from the ceiling and landed on the ground. He stopped hiding his chakra, letting it flare back up.
"Here it goes," Kazuki muttered to himself.
He quickly made three hand signs, gathering a massive amount of chakra in his chest.
'Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique'
He exhaled, and a massive, roaring dragon made of intense flames shot down the tunnel. The fire dragon flew straight into the research lab and exploded on impact.
A massive explosion shook the entire underground facility, sending heat and debris flying everywhere. Some screams of pain came from inside the lab as the flames consumed the room. Kazuki quickly took shelter behind the remains of his mud wall to avoid the blast radius.
Once the rumbling stopped, he closed his eyes and used his sensory ability to search for survivors in the burning room.
'Two of them are still alive, huh,' Kazuki thought. 'Judging from the chakra, I'm guessing one of them is the main scientist.'
Slowly, a figure emerged from the thick smoke. It was one of the Kumo ANBU, wearing a Fox mask.
"You've picked a fight with the wrong person, kid. I'm an ANBU captain," the ANBU said coldly.
Kazuki stepped out from behind the wall, his sword resting casually in his grip. He replied, "ANBU captain, huh? Well, I also wanted to test how strong I've become."
The ANBU captain reached behind his back and drew his dual swords, taking a deadly combat stance.
"Your overconfidence will be the cause of your defeat," the captain warned.
