The deafening roar of the helicopter rotors battered the tree canopy as Kaya stared intently at the tactical feed on her monitor. She zoomed in on the thermal imaging of the bodies scattered near the epicenter of the anomaly.
Something was completely, fundamentally off. The heat signatures were fading, but the anatomical proportions didn't match the Rot-weavers or the Wolf beastmen she had fought in the Venom-tooth Canyons.
Kaya's brow furrowed into a deep, severe line. "Wait."
She ripped her headset off and leaned into the cockpit, shouting over the noise of the storm. "Take it down! Put us right above those bodies in the ravine!"
