Macy woke up the next morning with a splitting headache and an awfully dry throat. She slowly sat up, rubbing her temples with her fingers, hoping that it might do some help.
"Ugh.."
She slowly staggered out of her room and down to the kitchen to get herself a drink. She didn't bother checking the time but it still looked pretty dark outside, so she could tell it was still quite early in the morning.
When she got to the kitchen, William was standing –in his briefs only– by the fridge. "Good morning, beautiful." He said as he spotted her.
Immediately she saw him, she remembered what had happened between them the previous night, and Macy's face flushed a crimson red color. "G– Good m– morning." She stammered, trying to hide her face from his view.
"I'd ask how your night was but I can tell it was perfect." She blushed even harder when he said that and William just smiled. "Well, I should head up to my room. I need to get ready, you should too."
"Ready? Are we going somewhere?"
"Did you forget? We resume work today."
"Work? Oh oh… right. I totally forgot."
"We wouldn't want to be late on our first day. It might be our father's company but we should at least show some effort."
"Yeah, I understand."
"We leave by seven thirty. Be ready."
Macy had completely forgotten about the company, and with the whole – sleeping with your half brother – thing, she didn't remember to pick out an outfit.
Quickly ransacking through her wardrobe, Macy tried to put together an outfit that was powerful enough to make a statement. To show the other members of the staff that she was a boss lady, smart, confident and perfect.
But she also wanted the outfit to be sexy, so much that she would seduce every man at the company… or just William.
It was no secret that the color red signified power, and in some cases, it was also considered as a sexy color. Thinking a regular skirt and shirt was way too casual for her first day, Macy decided to go for her jumpsuit instead.
It had a slightly long V- neck, so just the right amout of cleveage was visible. The jumpsuit was well fitted and it had a little flair at the bottom.
Leaving her hair down would make her objective too obvious so she decided to tie it up, but rather than her regular ponytail, she held it up in a neat bun, giving her round face a more serious but sophisticated look.
William knocked on her door, pausing her movements momentarily. "Yes?" She answered.
"We are going to be late woman. It's already seven." He complained.
"I still have thirty minutes left so just chill." She replied him.
"Okay, but know that I leave at exactly seven thirty. With, or without you."
Macy smiled at his threat, there was no way he could actually leave without her. That was impossible.
She touched her make up lightly, adding extra colors to her cheeks, lips and eyes.
For an outfit like that, heels would be perfect. So she sprung for her black suede high heels and added a matching purse and jacket to complete her look.
To finish her sexy, boss lady look, Macy wore silver heart shaped earrings and a silver necklace to match.
By the time she was done, it was already thirty two minutes after seven so she rushed downstairs. "William, I'm so sorry I.." he wasn't in the living room. "Maybe he went to the kitchen." She said to herself as she made her way there.
He was not in the kitchen.
She checked his room wnd literally every other part of the house, he was nowhere to be found.
He actually left without her!
Macy couldn't believe it, he actually left without telling her. How could he be so inconsiderate? Especially after they just spent the night together.
Her blood was boiling as she locked up and went outside. She didn't have a car of her own so she had no choice than to hail a taxi.
"Where to, miss?" The taxi driver asked as she sat down.
"Fourth avenue, the SnA Mega Corp."
"Alright. Off we go."
The SnA was the most popular company in the whole of New York. It started off as just a small advertising company, but as it grew, so did its branches. Now, there was nothing they didn't do. Real Estates, flipping of properties and much more. The CEO of the company, her step father, Darwin Sinclair claimed that he started the company from scratch after graduating from college.
Back then, it was nothing more than a storage room with little equipments. Even though it was difficult, he continued and persevered, until it finally paid off years later.
Macy remembered that she had once asked her step father what the initials of his company meant, and he said it was Sofia and Adam. His mother's name was Sofia, and his middle name was Adam.
He said after the death of his father, he knew how hard his mother struggled to raise him all by herself, so when he started his company, he decided to name it after her.
That was also the reason he took pity on her mother when they first met. He knew the struggles of a single mother, so when he saw Macy and her mother in that state, he had to do something about it.
But she was getting off track. The main issue was still that William left without her. When she remembered, all her anger came rushing back and she suddenly found it difficult to smile. When she got to the company, he was surely going to get an earful.
"Miss, we have arrived." The taxi driver announced, drawing her out of her thoughts.
She got out of the car, paid the good man and he was on his way.
Now it was just Macy, and the significant SnA building.
Now that she was standing in front of it, all her confidence suddenly slipped away with her anger, and it left her wishing that William was actually with her.
She swallowed hard as she began to approach the building, taking one unsteady step after the other.
Just as she reached the entrance, she heard a familiar voice call out to her.
"Macy?"
"Ajax?"
