"I missed you so much." I hugged her, "I missed you too, that's why I came to see you," she replied, "I heard some good news on my way here." She added, "What was it?" I asked impatiently. "That you are engaged," she said. I giggled while acknowledging what she said. "You, young ladies, are ignoring us," said Prince Karl, catching our attention. "It was just the excitement," Esther replied. It seems that their relationship has improved, Esther and Prince Karl. He couldn't take his eyes off her; she smiled whenever she caught his gaze. "Your relationship improved a lot." I said as I studied her facial expressions, "Yours also," she said as her gaze drifted from me to Léon.
"Esther, that necklace you gave me. What is the meaning behind it?" I asked my sister. "In some ways, this necklace always gave me what I wished for. I thought of leaving it to you, because I want you to experience happiness every day of your life," she answered. Her answer surprised me; she gave me something that she cherished: "Thank you, sister." I smiled, then hugged her. I whispered to her, "Is that what helped you improve your relationship with Prince Karl?" "I think so," she whispered back playfully.
"Evelyne, if I may, how about we let them get a rest. I am certain their journey here was long and eventful," Léon suggested. I looked down at Léon's seated form and agreed, as I let go of Esther, "Ah, yes, you guys should go get some rest." "Then we will go up first," my sister nodded. Prince Karl stood up, towering over us with his height, and Léon stood after him. "It was a pleasure to see you again, your highness, Sire Léon. We shall see each other again at supper," Prince Karl said. "It was indeed a pleasure," I said a final word, and they left. I turned to Léon, and he looked at me. We said nothing for about a clock tick. "Shall we return inside?" I asked. "I still have a meeting to attend, my queen. I shall entrust Éviene to your care," he said. "Alright." I sighed, "I hope your meeting will be pleasant." I added as he kissed my forehead, then left.
I sat there for a moment, thinking about the future, my future with Sir Léon. "Léon was soon to be king." I stood up and was about to stroll through the garden when a servant walked up to me. "Mid-day, your highness," "Mid-day, what brings you?" I asked. "Prince Jordan has arrived," he informed me. "Prince Jordan? It's rare to have the fine young man around; lead him here." Prince Jordan, my dear little cousin, well, not so little anymore, wished to see me. I sat back at the garden table and waited for his arrival. Soon, the butler, "His highness Prince Jordan."
