Raven carried the last of the plates inside Rose Manor, the quiet hum of the kitchen lights filling up the kitchen space as she set the dishes by the sink. Warm water mixed with soap began to mix with the dishes as she began to wash them.
Beside Raven, Alara took each dish Raven handed to her after rinsing them, and with careful movements she stacked them neatly in the drying rack. Once the last plate was done, Alara glanced at Raven with a small smile saying.
"So you made this great meal for me Raven. And I loved every moment of our date under the stars together." she said, her voice playful. "But it's getting late now, so why don't I reward you for the meal by wearing your favorite bunny ears when get down to business tonight? You can play the Big Bad Wolf who's caught the precious bunny rabbit in her hands."
A blush rushed to Raven's face instantly. "Don't say such embarrassing shit like that out loud Alara. You make it sound like this is what I was after the whole time. Just because I make you a meal and want it to be a bit romantic doesn't mean I'm chasing tail. But… since you made the offer, let's go."
Alara let out a quick laugh and ran up stairs. Raven was right behind her, the sound of their footsteps fading into the warmth of their bedroom. Evening turned into morning, and when Raven finally came down the stairs, her expression was full of satisfaction. Alara came down after her, her cheeks flushed red, from the embarrassing memories of the previous night.
In the dining room, Raven turned to Alara saying. "Make sure you shower and brush your teeth Alara. I don't want to kiss a zombie girl who eats raw meat regularly. Don't think I don't know about your midnight snacks. At least keep on top of cleaning your mouth afterwards."
Alara waved a hands defensively, still red-faced. "I already did, I already did. I would never be intimate with you Raven without doing that first. That's completely rude and inappropriate behavior."
Raven smiled faintly saying. "As long as you know that's a priority for me in our relationship. We need boundaries, and you staying on top of your hygiene is one of them. When I first found you Alara, you were covered in filth, and I had to take care of you for quite a while before you could do it yourself. Keeping you clean is one of my top priorities."
Memories drifted through Raven's mind of the early days when Alara was still simple-minded, and easy to coax or tease. Now, Alara is smarter and harder to fool, even in their intimate moments. This means Raven has to be more creative to lure Alara into the bedroom, but she welcomes the challenge.
Already, a new idea is forming in her mind. Maybe next time Raven can make homemade ice cream for Alara something sweet and unexpected should earn her a reward. Pink sherbet, perhaps, the perfect bait to tempt Alara into more role-play. Food is as much a key to Alara's heart as it is to her intimate time. A good meal, and Alara will step willingly into the part of a tormented victim offering herself to Raven.
Raven pulled up the system's connection to the internet to search for ice cream recipes, letting lists of flavors and ingredients flow through her mind. Her search was interrupted by a sudden shift in her body as her twin nucleus core pulsed, now full to the brim with energy. Raven stilled. This is it: she has hit the level one cap. Her next breakthrough is imminent.
Through their bond, she sensed Alara's core resonating with hers, ready to evolve. This timing is perfect and dangerous. Evolution will leave them vulnerable, and it is only because of Sanctuary that they can face it without fear.
The ice cream could wait. Raven stepped forward, scooping up Alara into her arms, holding her in a princess carry. Without a word, she ran out the door and out into the open air where the pre-aranged swimming pool waited for them. The surface misted faintly, from the built-in ice maker keeping the water cold.
Raven jumped in with Alara still in her arms, the cold water shocking her skin as the water closed in around them. Heat and raw energy began to flow out from their bodies, dissipating harmlessly into the cold pool water instead of destroying their home.
