Chapter 354 - Chapter 353: The Castle

Liu A'dou had expected that a castle connected to a mythological treasure like the Pandora Gem would be ancient, maybe hidden in some enchanted realm, steeped in the weight of history. But the reality was brutal. No one ever said legendary relics had to be hidden in ancient buildings. According to the enthusiastic restaurant owner, the castle his divination had pointed to was just a newly constructed Disneyland castle. The emotional damage was considerable.

But then Liu A'dou grew suspicious. It made sense that Batman didn't know about it—he probably never paid attention to such things. But how had Superman never heard of it? He was a reporter, and even if he didn't cover entertainment news, a project this big should've made headlines. Even Liu A'dou himself, a director mingling in the entertainment world, hadn't heard anything about a massive castle being built in the U.S.

Not a single whisper of news. If not for the restaurant owner's son working in America, Liu A'dou might've never found out where that castle was. Something was off. Seriously off.

Once he got the full details on where the owner's son worked, Liu A'dou was even more confused. The place was completely deserted. With a head full of questions, he returned to the U.S.

He asked Elsa to help watch Nono for a few days, then quietly headed toward the American interior.

The nearest town was over 2 hours away by car. It was one of the most remote spots in the U.S., but now it was a major construction site. Liu A'dou immediately noticed that none of the busy workers below were American. Most seemed to be young single men trying their luck in the U.S. A castle being built in such a remote place? Who'd believe this was for Disneyland? Only these foreigners unfamiliar with America would fall for that.

But with construction on this scale, what exactly was it for? And how was it connected to the Pandora Gem?

At least he'd found the place. Looking at the nearly completed giant castle, Liu A'dou decided right away—he was sneaking in.

The workers clearly didn't know what they were actually building. They just thought it was a new castle project. They worked day and night, but the pay and meals were decent.

Liu A'dou blended into the crowd and worked with them. Eventually, he found the Icelandic restaurant owner's son. From him, Liu A'dou learned that the project had been going for almost 1 year. In that time, they hadn't faced any restrictions. Nothing strange had happened. Despite how remote the place was, a good number of workers came from nearby towns, and the son himself had even gone into town before.

It was beyond strange. Liu A'dou decided to investigate the entire construction site thoroughly. He had to find out the truth.

A massive castle with zero commercial use—no matter who was behind it, it screamed conspiracy. If it turned out the mastermind was just a die-hard Disney fan, Liu A'dou swore he'd go bash his own head against a wall.

But after several days of inspecting every corner inside and out, he had to admit—it was just a castle. No hidden tunnels or secret doors. Still, there was something odd. The bricks were incredibly sturdy, far tougher than standard ones. Apparently, they were made with some kind of new high-polymer tech. These polymer bricks were as strong as metal, yet flexible, pressure-resistant, quake-proof, and heatproof—basically the most advanced building material in the world right now. The cost of building a castle like this would run over 10 billion dollars.

Liu A'dou tracked down the suppliers to find out who had ordered this huge amount of polymer bricks. But all his leads ended in dead ends. Still, the massive castle was nearly complete. So he decided to stay. Maybe the mysterious billionaire behind it had the gem in their hands.

With that, Liu A'dou began his undercover life, blending in and becoming friends with the workers.

Back at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Elsa returned with a child—which gave everyone quite a scare. But once they learned the kid was Liu A'dou's daughter, everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief.

With a new little life added to the big family, the place filled with laughter.

But the moment Professor X saw Nono, his expression turned to disbelief. He could sense a powerful psychic force in her—not just that. From Nono, he felt the presence of all mutant abilities.

Nono was mimicking them. Professor X stared in awe at the baby only a few months old. This was a once-in-a-century kind of super mutant—a girl who might possess every mutant's power.

"Elsa, whose child is this?" Professor X could barely keep calm.

Elsa said, "She's A'dou and Ada's daughter. They're both busy, so they asked me to watch her for a few days."

"Incredible, absolutely incredible!" Professor X took Nono from Elsa's arms. The baby wasn't shy at all. She giggled happily while staring at the professor's shiny bald head.

"Professor, Nono really likes you," Elsa said. Nono didn't cry randomly, but she didn't smile at just anyone either.

It felt like he was looking at his own granddaughter. Professor X and Liu A'dou were old friends, and now his daughter had such talent. He told himself he couldn't let a gem like this slip through his fingers. Once Nono grew up, he'd personally train her.

"By the way, why did Mr. Liu leave his daughter with you?" The professor didn't believe Liu A'dou was the type to be irresponsible.

"I don't know. He just said he had something to do." Elsa was telling the truth—she really didn't know.

"Then let her stay here. If you need any help, talk to Logan. He'll get you whatever baby supplies you need."

Logan covered his face. Babysitting duty again…

Actually, Liu A'dou had already prepared everything. But Elsa had no idea how to take care of a baby, so a lot of the stuff went to waste. Eventually, Logan had to go out and buy more. The idea of this burly tough guy buying baby supplies was almost too much to bear. Logan felt immense pressure.

No one at Xavier's School had ever raised a baby before, so taking care of Nono turned into total chaos. Her crying shook the entire mansion.

Elsa couldn't tell if Nono was hungry or needed a diaper change. In a panic, she spilled formula all over the floor. "Shadowcat, hurry!"

"Coming!" Shadowcat ran through the wall with a diaper in hand, sprinting straight to Nono.

The two girls clearly didn't know what they were doing, and Nono wasn't making it easy—kicking her little legs wildly.

"Nono, be good!"

Rogue came over too, but she had gloves on and didn't dare touch Nono in case she hurt her. "Is she hungry or does she need a change? Figure it out first—don't do both at once!" She was getting frustrated just watching.

Then Elsa knocked over the pot of boiling water. "No!"

"Elsa, just change the diaper first. Hold her feet." They had tried dividing tasks—one making the formula, the other changing diapers. But with the formula out of the picture, teamwork was their only option.

"My God." Rogue couldn't take it anymore. "Step aside, let me handle this." She'd helped her aunt with kids before—didn't have a ton of experience, but way more than these two.

Gloves on, Rogue dashed over. "You can't be this rough!"

Rogue really did know what she was doing. She showed off in front of Shadowcat and Elsa. Shadowcat blushed—she'd accidentally held the diaper upside down, no wonder it wouldn't fit.

Finally, everything was under control. Nono stopped crying. The bottle came out and she turned from a little devil back into a little angel. The three girls all let out a huge sigh of relief.

Playing with Nono was fun. Taking care of her? That was another story entirely.
