It must be said that the horse-faced creature was really stunned for a moment after hearing Sebastian's words. Then he shook his head and laughed with a bitter tone. "Although I want to follow you, sneaking in and taking me away are two different things entirely. These restraints were all deliberately created by the Grandmaster to keep me here, not to mention that I have no intention of working for anyone anymore."
Looking at the horse-faced creature, Sebastian did not continue to persuade him at that moment, but this did not mean that he had given up on the idea.
Sebastian could tell that the other party had not communicated with anyone for a long time, so he was very eager to talk with him. Therefore, Sebastian spoke again with a casual tone. "Then tell me about your tribe and your past. From your tone, it seems that your tribe did not die out naturally, is that correct?"
Sitting directly on the ground in front of the prisoner, Sebastian looked at the other party and continued. "Of course, if you do not want to talk about it, we can talk about something else instead."
Shaking his head with difficulty, the horse-faced creature said, "No, it is fine. These things are facts that have already happened to me, so there is nothing that cannot be said about them. As you guessed, my tribe originally lived on a planet called Korbin, and it was considered a happy life for all of us.
But on what seemed like a normal day, the army of Thanos arrived without warning. They did not accept surrender, nor did they want anything from us. All they wanted was killing, endless killing and destruction.
Of course, we would not just watch them slaughter us without fighting back, but the people on our planet were really not good at fighting or warfare. In the end, we were still overwhelmed. We were completely annihilated by the vast armies of Thanos, with only a handful of survivors who left their homes and wandered the universe in search of safety.
Ultimately, they encountered numerous disasters during their journey, leaving no one alive except me. To protect the surviving members of my tribe, I underwent mechanical transformations to gain immense power, transforming myself into a half-biological, half-mechanical form to become a warrior.
I sought revenge for my tribe, to destroy Thanos' forces and slay Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight, who had led the Black Order in invading our planet. However, my strength was ultimately insufficient on my own, so I sought out like-minded individuals to join my cause.
Eventually, I arrived on Sakaar and became a gladiator for the Grandmaster. When I tried to leave after winning my freedom, the Grandmaster completely reneged on his promise to release me. And then, after who knows how many years have passed, you came to me in this cell.
This is my story: the story of a homeless wanderer, a sole survivor, a warrior without a people to protect."
Sebastian looked at the horse-faced creature, and at that moment, he felt a deep sense of understanding. The Black Order truly had a long reach across the universe. Most of the tragedies in the universe were caused by Thanos and the Black Order led by his generals, he thought grimly.
Without further words, Sebastian raised his hand and said to the horse-faced creature, "I have many stories of my own, some of which are related to you and your quest. Merely telling you about them is meaningless and you might not believe me. Please see for yourself what I have witnessed."
With a wave of his hand, Sebastian immediately dragged the horse-faced creature into a vision using his magic. The scenes in the vision were exactly what Sebastian had seen during his previous battles against the Black Order over the years.
When the vision ended, the horse-faced creature stared at Sebastian in disbelief, muttering to himself with growing excitement. "This, this, is this true? You have really killed Proxima Midnight, defeated the other Black Order members numerous times, and even faced Thanos head-on in battle. Is all of this real and true?
Earth, is there truly a planet in this universe that can stand up to Thanos and his forces? Is there a planet that can truly resist him and survive? So, we are not alone. Are there beings like me who seek revenge, yet even more powerful than I am?"
The series of questions revealed the horse-faced creature's profound restlessness and renewed hope.
He certainly would not think those things were illusions or tricks. In fact, if one had not truly experienced them firsthand, even illusions could not be that real and detailed.
So, the horse-faced creature was certain that they were all real memories. This also gave him, who had become desolate and self-destructive after countless years of imprisonment, renewed confidence in his quest for revenge against Thanos and the Black Order, including Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight themselves!
After taking a deep breath to calm himself, the horse-faced creature looked at Sebastian and said with determination, "Excuse me, will you continue to fight against Thanos and the Black Order in the future?"
"I have what they need desperately. Or rather, there are four things in my hometown, Earth, that they are determined to obtain at any cost, so they will inevitably invade Earth again in the future."
"If you will continue to confront them head-on, then I am willing to join your forces and work for you as a soldier. Of course, I may not have the qualifications right now given my imprisonment, but please believe me. At the very least, if I encounter a single Black Order member now, I will not have to flee in embarrassment like I did before."
"Of course, I believe you and your strength. Otherwise I would not have come down here to invite you to join me in the first place. So now let us introduce ourselves properly to one another." Sebastian stood up from where he sat and introduced himself to the horse-faced creature formally. "My name is Sebastian Shaw. I was born on Earth and am a wizard on Earth. I am now the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on Earth. You can call me Headmaster directly, or Sebastian if you prefer."
After hearing Sebastian's words, the horse-faced creature did not hesitate and immediately introduced himself in return.
"My name is Beta Ray Bill. You can just call me Bill if that is easier. I was born on the now-destroyed planet of Korbin. From now on, I will fulfill my duties as a member of your forces. As long as we can fight Thanos and the Black Order head-on, I will serve you with loyalty."
"Very well, then. You are most welcome to join me, Bill. I will release you from your restraints now. This place is not worthy of you any longer."
"Please wait, these restraints are..."
Before Bill could finish his words and warn Sebastian, strands of black and red fire emerged from Sebastian's hands. The flames moved like the sharpest knives in the universe, effortlessly shredding the powerful restraints on Bill's body, rendering them completely incapable of holding him any longer.
Bill's physical fitness was truly formidable. Despite years of imprisonment without movement, his body showed no signs of stiffness or weakness. He stood up effortlessly, looking up at the shattered remains of restraints and chains that had fallen from his body. Bill could not help but roar with triumph and freedom.
Sebastian waved his hand, throwing a cloak towards Bill through the air.
Bill caught the cloak, put it on himself to cover his form, and said to Sebastian with gratitude, "Headmaster, thank you very much. I am finally free again after all these years."
"It is just a small matter, nothing more. Let us go out now and leave this place behind."
After that, Sebastian waved his hand to open a portal in the air, and took Bill away directly through the portal. When the restraints were destroyed, an alarm sounded throughout the facility, so Sebastian did not choose to go out from the direction he came from. He teleported directly instead.
Not long after Sebastian and Bill left through the portal, the thick metal wall slowly opened with grinding mechanical sounds. The Grandmaster, accompanied by his elite soldiers, looked at the empty cell where his prized champion had been kept. His usually jovial expression finally became grim with anger.
