Chapter 84 - His unbelievable demand

"She was kidnapped by some people. We got shot, and because of this, we needed her," Robert explained, the severity of the situation evident in his tone.

Amid the unfolding chaos, Francisco turned to Hazel with a calm yet piercing look.

"Honey, will you please tell them the truth? You're an officer too; I know you know how to handle this situation."

Hazel found herself caught between the pressure of revealing the truth and the fear of the consequences. The weight of Francisco's gaze bore down on her, and the room hung in suspense, awaiting her response.

As the tension lingered in the air, Hazel stood her ground, her jaw clenched in determination. She knew revealing the truth could lead to dire consequences, and she needed to protect herself and her parents.

"Robert, Mr. Francisco saved me," Hazel stated firmly, her gaze unwavering.

Robert's expression was slightly stern, but he still seemed skeptical.

"That's all I can help, because I don't know who they were," Hazel added, hoping to convey her limitations in the situation.

Robert furrowed his brows, considering her words.

"I want to talk to you alone," he asked, crossing his arms.

Hazel remained resolute.

"Robert, we cannot talk alone because it doesn't change my statement," she replied firmly.

Robert seemed to understand her stance but persisted.

"Then why don't you come back to the office?" he suggested.

Hazel deflected his question, asserting, "I will talk to Mr. Alex about it."

"But..."

"You guys are okay?"

Hazel's heart started beating faster.

Robert, without blinking, answered, "No, we lost someone important, Hazel."

Hazel's heart skipped a beat. She had no courage to ask or know more about the loss they had suffered.

Hazel felt her heart skip a beat at the confirmation of their loss, a wave of sadness washing over her. She struggled with the urge to inquire further, but fear held her back, overshadowing her curiosity.

Francisco tightened his jaw, and finally, he spoke out, "Mr. Robert, we will definitely help you investigate, but right now, we need to go home."

"She is an agent and she will definitely help you guys."

"Honey!"

"Tell them something, invite them to our home," Francisco said.

"Hah!"

"Yes, Robert, you can come any time, but right now, I need to go, and I will help you guys with the investigation."

Hazel's firm grip on Francisco's arm caught Robert off guard, leaving him stunned and unable to press further with his questions. He nodded slowly, understanding that there were complexities at play that he couldn't immediately unravel.

As Hazel and Francisco walked away, Adam emerged from the car and approached Robert, seeking clarification.

"Sir, what is it?" Adam inquired, his tone tinged with curiosity and concern.

Robert, retrieving a cigarette, took a moment to collect his thoughts before responding, "Adam, there are some issues with her."

Adam furrowed his brows, trying to comprehend Robert's cryptic statement.

"But, she seems so happy with him," he remarked, a hint of confusion in his voice.

Robert pondered for a moment before responding, "Appearances can be deceiving, Adam. We can't judge her happiness solely based on external factors."

Adam nodded in understanding, but another worry crept into his mind.

"And Sir Rafael is still in the hospital. What should we tell him?" he asked, his voice tinged with concern for their colleague.

Robert took another drag of his cigarette, his gaze distant as he mulled over the situation. "We'll handle that when the time comes," he replied, his tone heavy with unresolved issues.

"Adam, she was asking for help," Robert continued, his voice tinged with conviction.

"She's smart, smarter than us, and fiercely loyal. She won't be easily manipulated."

As the gravity of the situation weighed on them, Robert made a decisive decision.

"She's in trouble. Let's go back," he declared, a sense of urgency in his voice.

"Francisco did something to her which made her stop saying everything."

Adam nodded in understanding, realizing the gravity of the situation. Hazel was ensnared in a web that seemed to involve Francisco, and her silent cry for help had not gone unnoticed by Robert.

Inside the car, Hazel remained silent, her thoughts a tumultuous whirlwind as she grappled with the recent events.

Francisco's voice pierced the silence as they arrived home, his words laden with an unsettling calmness.

"I am glad that you maintained them so well," he remarked, his fingers deftly loosening his tie.

Hazel's response was a heavy silence, her expression inscrutable as she placed her bag on the couch and perched on the edge of the bed.

After a moment, Francisco broke the silence again, his tone casual yet laden with implications.

"Do you want to go there?" he inquired, his gaze fixed on Hazel.

Her response was laced with a mix of defiance and apprehension. "If I go, won't it be too easy to save my parents?" she countered, her eyes locked on Francisco's.

"And won't it be too easy for you to kill them?" The words hung heavy in the air as Hazel confronted Francisco with an unyielding gaze.

Sensing the tension thickening between them, Francisco moved closer, a disarming smile playing on his lips as he settled beside her. Hazel's rapid breaths echoed in the room, a testament to the mounting pressure she felt.

With a calculated ease, Francisco's fingers grazed her hair, a gesture that belied the gravity of their conversation.

"Of course it is," he affirmed, his tone unwavering.

Hazel's frustration simmered beneath the surface as she implored him, "Then why don't you tell me what I should do?"

"Kiss me!"

His demand for a kiss, coupled with his nonchalant demeanor, grated on her nerves.

"Kiss me!"

Francisco repeated, his gaze fixed on her lips as he lightly brushed his thumb against her lower lip. Hazel's brows furrowed in disbelief, her irritation simmering beneath the surface.

"Your kiss helps a lot," he added with a hint of arrogance, further fueling Hazel's frustration.

With a tight press of her lips, Hazel turned her face away, her jaw clenched in annoyance.

"I am asking you what you want?" she retorted, her tone edged with impatience.

 "Don't be ridiculous now."

Francisco took a deep breath, his smile unwavering despite Hazel's obvious displeasure.

"Then shower together, we will discuss while showering," he suggested casually, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Hazel's anger flared at the suggestion, her eyes narrowing with a mixture of disbelief and indignation. She resisted the urge to slap him, her fists tightening as she struggled to find the right words.
