[3rd POV]
"So, when can we head over to the bookstore again? The meditation techniques that she had sold there are incredible! And I haven't even gotten the truly advanced ones yet!" M'gann asked, really hoping they could go back soon.
It had only been a couple of days since they had visited the bookstore, and she had already binge read all of the books that she had thought. And just like she had been expecting, the books were all absolutely incredible quality.
Far superior to whatever books she had before, and even superior to the techniques that her people had been using for thousands of years at this point. Proving that Wanda had access to things that they couldn't even begin to understand.
"I mean...I don't see why we can't head back tomorrow. The books were pretty good, and they had a lot o new martial arts that I had never seen before. Even Bat had been interested in learning them" Dick said with a shrug, not seeing any reason to not head back.
They weren't the Justice League, they were not being bound by some fear of whatever Wanda might do to them. So they had no reason to ignore the potential boons of heading back to the store to get more books.
"Agreed. The books on hydrokinesis had been an incredible boon to my training, so I have no qualms about heading back there again in the future" Kaldur responded, also agreeing with the idea of heading back.
His training in hydrokinesis had boosted his power with water by around 50% or so, and it was only continuing to increase. He expected to have doubled his power by the end of the month, proving just how incredible the arts were.
It was mostly thanks to the breathing techniques that he had learned, and the new movement techniques that helped him manipulate water to a higher degree. There was even methods of controlling the blood in other peoples bodies thanks to the water in their blood. He was not at that level of control just yet, but he had more than enough potential to get there.
He just needed to continue practicing, and hope that Wanda had some more books on higher level hydrokinesis that were still in his budget, and were ones that he would actually be able to utilize to the fullest. As some of them were in other languages that he could not for the life of him read, and some were reliant on traits that his body did not have. So there was a limited amount of books he could learn from.
At least that is what he believed. But he had no idea just how many books Wanda was still going through, thousands of which were books on hydrokinesis and the manipulation of waters and the sea itself. So he would have a lot of ways to train his powers in the coming future.
"The books on meditation were...helpeful" Superboy said after he heard their words, agreeing that they should go back.
Like M'gann, he had binge read the books and had begun to put them into practice. It wasn't an immediate difference or anything, but he could already feel himself mellowing out a bit, as his emotions were far easier to control than before. He could tell that if he continued to train in the art of meditation, then he should gain a decent amount of control over his emotions, which would let him control his power much easier than before.
"Yeah the martial arts were pretty neat, and the techniques on training accuracy were good" Artemis said, having been using these new training methods to make new strides in her training with the bow. Her accuracy had spiked quite a lot thanks to it, and while she was not on the level of Green Arrow or anything, she was pretty confidant that she had already surpassed Red Arrow.
The only one that wasn't saying anything about the books was Kid Flash, who had just shrugged.
"They were alright"
"You're only saying that because you don't want to admit the creepy lady had actually helped you increase your speed" Dick said with an amused smirk on his face, only to still when he heard a voice behind him.
"Ooh that's kind of mean! My mama is not creepy" The voice of a girl echoed as they all turned, only to find the pink haired bundle of chaos standing there.
"Who-" "Milim Maximoff, nice to meet ya! And my mama is the one you just called a creepy lady, birdy" Milim said to Dick, who tensed when he heard this.
"Oh, and this is my younger brother and sister, Naruto Maximoff and Amity Maximoff" Milim said after remembering her siblings were there with her. Naruto grinned and waved at them, while Amity just awkwardly gave them her own little wave.
"I didn't realize Miss Maximoff had children, at least, not three of them" Kaldur said in surprise. He knew that she had at least one kid, but he did not think that she had three. All of which looked nothing like her, meaning that she had undoubtedly adopted them.
"Hmm? Well if you came into the shop more often then you would have seen us, we help out with the shop all the time" Milim replied with a shrug, before glancing at Kid Flash who still was looking at her tensely.
"What?" He asked, seeing the look she was giving him.
"Oh nothing, just looking at the one that was calling my mom scary. Gotta say, not very impressed" Milim replied bluntly, not even bothering to hide her dislike of the way he was talking about her mom.
It was rude.
"Wha-what do you mean by that?" Kid Flash, stuttering over himself in surprise.
"I mean that you're weak. Like, I was expecting more out of someone that can move at super speed. Only to find that you aren't even using your power right, Superboy over there is way more impressive" Milim replied bluntly, not sugar coating it.
She could be blunt when she wanted to.
"Thanks?" The teen said in slight confusion.
"So...what exactly are you doing here? I mean, I know that there is a door here to your moms place, but why are you here, talking to us?" Dick asked, as Milim shrugged.
"Just wanted to meet you and your little team" Milim replied as she shrugged.
"Yeah, and we were here trying the lobster rolls anyways" Naruto added, pointing back behind them to the place they tried it at.
Amity was awkwardly standing there with her siblings, not really sure what to say or do. She wasn't really the best at talking to people she did not know, especially new people in a new world like this one. The heroes were probably the hardest of the bunch to talk to, due to their personalities and the way they liked to judge someone based off of their cover.
Kid Flash looked at them with narrowed eyes, not even bothering to hide is suspicion of the trio in front of him. He remembered Wanda had pranked them several times at this point, so if her kids were anything like her, then they likely were going to prank them as well.
"It's not going to work, you know" Wally eventually said, as Milim looked at him.
"What?"
"The prank. You're planning to prank us in some elaborate way, like your mom. But I can tell you now that you are not going to succeed at whatever you are planning" Kid Flash said in response, giving her a glare as she blinked.
"But we're not here to prank you?" Milim replied with a tilt of her head, inwardly cackling at the look that they were all giving her. It would seem that her words had only made them doubt her more, and not trust her.
Exactly what she was hoping for.
"Yeah right. Why else would you come over here to talk to us? You obviously have something planned, and you're distracting us so you can prepare it" Kid flash replied once again, as Dick narrowed his eyes at her.
"Yeah...this is becoming suspicious. Maybe it's time for us to head back, to make sure nothing...out of the ordinary happened back at the mountain" Dick said, as the others slowly nodded along with his words. They had been walking around for a while now, so none of them were against that idea.
After saying this, the team began to turn to leave, briskly walking off in order to see if she pranked them or not.
"Bye! It was nice to meet you!" M'gann said as she ran after them.
Watching the team run off, Milim's face soon warped into a grin, as she looked at her brother who was also grinning, and Amity, who had a small smile on her face, amusement swimming in her eyes.
Upon seeing this, and the team leaving, Milim had only one thought on her mind.
'Ha! We definitely have to prank them for real now!'
