"How are you feeling?"
Brandan asked.
"I'm much better now," Emily said with a happy expression on her pale face, as if even a casual concern from Brandan could cheer her up, "just like I've had a good sleep."
"You were in a coma for thirty days, almost didn't wake up."
Brandan's tone got a bit complicated as he spoke.
Although his father was intent on making him marry Emily, which made him very angry, Emily was innocent. He had indeed been somewhat resentful towards her lately.
Emily heard the concern in his voice, smiling and squinting her eyes, her voice very soft, "Is Brother Brandan worried about me? Don't worry, Emily has woken up, the doctors are very skilled, I'll be able to stand up and walk soon."
Seeing the smile on her face, Brandan remembered the day she rushed over from behind and said, "Weren't you scared that day?"
"Afraid," Emily tilted her head and smiled, "but what's scarier than being hit is Brother Brandan being hit."
