She raised her hand to gently touch the dark circles under his eyes, feeling a bit of pity. She didn't know what had happened with Emily Dormer, but seeing Brandan Hyde not come home all night, it was probably a troublesome matter.
"Buzz buzz buzz—"
The phone Brandan left on the bedside table suddenly rang, Iris Harris hurriedly reached out to grab the phone. She glanced at Brandan, and only after confirming he hadn't been disturbed, did she breathe a sigh of relief.
Iris carefully lifted the blanket and got out of bed, slipping on her slippers as she walked to the balcony. She looked at the phone still vibrating incessantly, then answered the call.
"Brandan, what exactly are you doing? Why are you answering the phone so late?"
Over the phone, Mr. Hyde's voice roared out of nowhere.
