Seeing Brandan Hyde speaking this way, Charles Hyde was finally satisfied. He smiled and patted Brandan's shoulder, saying, "Apologize properly to Emily in a bit, cheer her up. Girls are easy to cheer up."
Brandan had little interest in appeasing women, but not wanting to be nagged by Charles, he nodded again, "I understand."
Charles left the bedroom.
Brandan leaned back on the sofa, indifferently turned on the TV, and watched the evening news for a while.
Since divorcing Iris Harris, he had lost interest in women altogether. Charles wanted to set him up with Emily Dormer, but he neither cooperated nor resisted, maintaining a detached attitude.
"Knock, knock, knock."
There was a knocking sound at the door.
"Come in."
Brandan said.
"Brother Brandan."
Emily Dormer walked in holding a cup of hot milk tea, anxiously yet earnestly looking at the man on the sofa, "You didn't have dinner, have some milk tea to fill your stomach?"
