After Scarlett Yates returned to her room, she took out her phone and made a call to the hospital.
Soon, the call was connected, and a sweet and gentle female voice came from the phone: "This is xx hospital, how can we help you?"
"I'm looking for Matthew Saxon." Scarlett Yates held the phone and walked to the window, reaching out to pull open the curtains.
The window was tightly shut, and the room felt a bit stuffy. She pushed the window open a crack, allowing fresh air to flow in.
The night breeze was a bit chilly, carrying a slight dampness that brushed against her face.
She felt a coolness at the corner of her eyes too. When she reached up to touch it, she realized it was tears.
The warm tears slid out of her eyes, becoming cool as the wind blew on them.
She thought she wouldn't cry, for such a man who treated her like a commodity, since when had her tears become so cheap?
