"Here you go." Uncle Thompson handed the medicine he bought back to Scarlett Yates. "Take it as instructed. Although I've only promised Matthew Saxon to ensure your safety, if he sees you looking like you're about to die and gets angry, it won't benefit us."
Scarlett Yates hesitated for a moment, took the medicine, and didn't thank him.
She knew that if it weren't for Matthew Saxon, Uncle Thompson wouldn't care about her life or death. He wouldn't be kind enough to buy her medicine.
But she indeed felt unwell, with a headache so severe it felt like it would split her head open. She didn't care whether Uncle Thompson's concern was genuine or insincere. She skimmed through the instructions briefly and swallowed the medicine.
After taking the cold medicine, she felt a bit better, but her eyelids grew increasingly heavy.
