Chapter 236 - Belial Against The Orbital Onslaught

From the seemingly trapped Black Dragon erupted a destructive, high temperature glow, with hundreds of thousands of degrees, explosions, and shockwaves melting and blasting away the metal sludge. Weapon serpents were dragged down from the sky by Gravity Manipulation and twisted into true scrap under billions of tons of force. In the next moment, Belial simply walked out of the molten crater.

Immediately, a storm of attacks followed, including physical missiles, gauss weapons, phase attacks, and high temperature lasers, dense as rain and completely flooding the area. It still did nothing. He calmly deployed Photon Reflection Shield, stomped the ground, and released a powerful Electromagnetic Pulse that shut down and destroyed distant mountain-like gun emplacements.

Solid shells flew back along their paths, reentering barrels and exploding, while high temperature lasers were simply reflected away by Photon Reflection Shield. These weapons looked impressive, but compared to the exaggerated numbers and real monstrosities from the Heisei Era era, they were far behind. He told them it was pointless and suggested the real body come out to fight and save time.

A distant mountain-sized Canyon was torn open by Rend, revealing a massive cannon linked to the planet core. A laser column larger than Belial himself fired, only to be forcibly deflected and carve a huge trench across the surface. The mastermind still refused to give up, mobilizing even the sky as meteors and satellites turned into orbital cannons.

An ultra-dense barrage sealed every inch of space around him, and the planet's surface lit up. The metal at his location was instantly vaporized into a massive pit, blasted outward like waves under immense force. Even familiar things appeared, including Nanometal clinging to the shield and trying to break it down.

Belial commented that this was actually pretty impressive. By his calculations, this firepower was enough to turn entire major nations into scorched earth, every inch of them. Since he was still calmly critiquing, it meant he was not afraid at all, because the purity was far too low.

The spectacle was large, but none of the attacks even reached the edge of his defense. Worse for the enemy, his abilities converted the incoming attacks into energy for himself, making his reserves rise instead. Being a kind person, Belial did not want them to realize this cruel truth.

"So I plan to wipe all your stuff out in one move, so you never notice," he said. "I really am a good person."

He nodded to himself in satisfaction.

The surroundings shifted again under the dense bombardment of artillery. Behind the scenes, the hidden hand seemed to realize something as the ground shook and split with Rend, and huge, sharp metal peaks stretched upward. There was not just one, but more than a dozen, like a savage giant claw closing around Belial as if he were an ant.

After a strange humming sound, the ground beneath Belial was torn into basic particles and vanished. In an instant, his shield sensed hundreds of gravity and attraction forces pulling from every direction. The surrounding surface cracked apart with Rend, and terrifying pressure bore down on his body as he looked up at the towering metal peaks.

"Something like gravity weapons?" he said. "That makes things a bit interesting, but aren't you showing off in front of the wrong expert?" He blinked, sounding almost amused, as if asking whether they knew which ability he used most often.

To show proper respect, a far stronger gravity surge erupted and flung away the surrounding attraction beams. It stretched straight toward one of the gravity generators, crushing open a massive trench along the way. "Magnetic Field Rotation… Gravity Manipulation!" he roared. "Let me show you who's in charge."

Suddenly, dents appeared all over the mountain-like gravity generator pillar. The sounds of metal tearing with Rend and violent explosions rang out as if an invisible giant were squeezing a toy. Amid even harsher twisting and rupturing, with pipes breaking apart, the entire generator was ripped free and crushed into a sphere in midair.

He tossed aside the mangled lump of scrap and calmly dismissed his shield. Using his body, he directly withstood the shifting gravity beams, then swung his tail. A sharp flash appeared at the tip of the Crystal, tracing a glowing arc through the air.

A huge half-circle of plasma expanded outward at extreme speed and heat. In less than a second, it swept across the remaining dozen gravity generators in sequence. The cutting edge sliced through solid metal with ease, faster than the armor could even tear apart.

Explosions and shrill metal ruptures erupted together. The cut surfaces were smooth and clean, yet electromagnetic force and searing heat kept tearing through the internal structures. One after another, the gravity generators were destroyed, and the plasma wave continued to spread under deliberate control, forming a massive energy shockwave.

Under the combined assault of heat and momentum, not only the metal ground but also the dense forest of weapons embedded in it were ground into Shard. The barrels of huge electromagnetic railguns softened under the heat before being ripped free by the shockwave, while countless other weapons detonated in rising pillars of fire.

The once weapon-covered metal surface had largely become wreckage, scattering outward into a raging storm of molten metal and heat. But that was still not the end. The ground units were mostly gone, but there were still targets in the sky.

Staring at the eye-like satellite orbital cannon above, along with warships slowly awakening within the asteroid belt, Belial stood amid the ruins and drew a deep breath. Then he unleashed a roar. "Roar!"

What spread through the metal torn into particles was not just sound, but a piercing shockwave mixed with intense heat. The upward-directed super vibration wave, combined with wide-area internal radiation, produced a terrifying result as countless points of light suddenly flared in the sky.

Explosions followed in rapid succession. Weapons and warships ignited and melted apart, tearing through the dense asteroid weapon layers like a child's coloring game. Wherever the wave passed, nothing remained but molten ruin and flowing metal.

The destruction climbed upward at incredible speed. No intact armor survived the vibration wave, and the many weapon platforms floating in Low Earth Orbit were all easily destroyed and detonated. Some distant satellite cannons, shielded by distance and asteroids, slowly turned their barrels and began charging again.

Then something else happened. One massive orbital cannon, shaped like a satellite, suddenly shuddered as layers of energy shields flashed across its surface before all shattering into Shard. Its immense mass lost control and turned into a falling meteor, slowly plunging toward the metal planet below.

Judging by its size and metallic structure, its impact would far surpass the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs. It was not falling without reason, as the satellite cannon struggled desperately. Thrusters flared brightly from multiple ports, but they went dark one after another amid sharp ruptures.

"If you still won't come out, don't blame me for having more fun," Belial said. "Let's set off a big firework." Using Gravity Manipulation, he dragged down the offending object from the sky and slowly opened his mouth, the spines on his back glowing.

A wave of heat spread out, igniting the surroundings into a sea of fire. Energy roared within him, and faint red lines appeared between his scales along the Rift, though they were not very distinct. He exhaled scorching breath and laughed. "It's just a meteor. I'll use Heat Ray to deal with it."

Then a super-spiral Fusion Reaction Beam burst forth, firing straight into the satellite's cannon mouth. A tiny beam of light shot from the ground to the massive structure in the sky. The contrast was shocking, as the continuous output caused repeated internal melting and explosions inside the metal satellite.

Soon, red molten light showed through its armor from within. A thunderous explosion followed, echoing across the far side of the metal planet. Somewhere below, blade-like metal forests rose and a furious roar answered, but it was already too late.

The orbital cannon's destruction produced a fireball that covered nearly half the planet. Although the affected area was slightly smaller, countless weapons and platforms in the asteroid belts were still damaged. Such losses within its own domain far exceeded what it could accept, especially before its Divine Kingdom had even been rebuilt.

This was after heavy losses already, and after being ambushed by some unknown trickster with an orbital cannon earlier. What exactly was this Black Dragon wreaking havoc on its planet, and which damned enemy had sent it? It seemed that past events had made others think it was already on the brink of death.

Very well. Let them learn that its blade was still sharp. A colossal monster finally climbed out from the planet's molten crust, no longer willing to endure. The surface weapons and orbital defenses had been useless, and even rule-based attacks had only damaged itself while that dragon remained untouched.

It had not even understood what had happened. Left with no choice, it had summoned its satellite to crush the intruder, only for it to be dragged down and destroyed. That was the last straw. This was no ordinary invader, and it demanded a decisive response.
