Chapter 87 - 109

Chapter 109 The Great Heavenly Dragon

Master Jingyang shouted and swept his whisk forward, but the monster dodged and blocked it with its tail, showing that the monster's phantom was extremely powerful!

The old man controlling the Yamata no Orochi chuckled strangely, and with a wave of his hand, a black mist shot out of the monster's mouth and hurtled towards Master Jingyang, which he easily deflected with his whisk.

"Lin, Bing, Dou, Zhe, Jie, Zhen, Lie, Qian, Xing!"

Chen Cheng chanted the Nine True Words, his hands rapidly forming hand seals. A golden palm imbued with Taoist energy struck out once more. The monster, despite its sturdy body, was forced to stagger, its black aura rapidly dissipating! As if wounded, it roared to the sky and then leaped out of the Japanese sorcerers' formation like a madman, charging towards Chen Cheng. Before it even arrived, a stream of black energy spewed from its mouth!

"Golden Shield Tai Chi"!

A golden Tai Chi diagram appeared in front of Chen Cheng, protecting him. Although the black energy that shot at it did not penetrate, its powerful force caused Chen Cheng to take a few steps back, where he was supported by the Purple Gold Immortal.

"You beast, how dare you, a mere grain of rice, rival the brilliance of the moon? Let me show you the divine beast of China, the mighty Heavenly Dragon!"

As Master Jingyang's voice rang out, a five-clawed golden dragon, radiating brilliant golden light, appeared from behind him with a high-pitched roar. After circling once, it flew towards the giant eight-headed serpent, and the two giant beast phantoms instantly clashed!

Cheng Yunzi and Wuxiang Zhenren were not idle either, each killing ghost kings and ghost cultivators. However, there were too many little ghosts. Even though the heavenly lightning had killed some of them, more than a hundred fierce ghosts escaped the tribulation and lingered around the group, waiting for an opportunity to strike!

The golden dragon trapped the eight-headed serpent. The old Japanese man and Master Jingyang stood motionless, controlling it with their minds. Several other Japanese sorcerers controlled the demon kings, and two others chanted incantations. Suddenly, the great formation shook.

"Oh no, they're going to break through the great formation! If these ghosts escape, things will get chaotic!"

While protecting Jingyang Zhenren, Zijin Zhenren shot out several talismans, and the ghost cultivators who were hit by them instantly disappeared!

"Ling'er, come out and help!"

A beautiful white figure flew out from Chen Cheng's bracelet. With a wave of her hands, a large number of vengeful ghosts or ghost cultivators were instantly annihilated. Just kidding, Ling'er is a thousand-year-old array spirit. In the past, she was a force to be reckoned with when dealing with those dead souls in the great array. Now, in the Spirit Trapping Array, she is even more powerful!

Ling'er's appearance instantly turned the tide of the battle. She eliminated large numbers of ghosts, freeing up Master Wuxiang, Daoist Minglun, Cheng Yunzi, and Daoist Qianhe to deal with the Japanese sorcerers!

The Yamata no Orochi was completely suppressed by the golden dragon, and five of its eight huge snake heads were torn off by the golden dragon's sharp claws, leaving only three struggling to hold on!

As Master Qianhe struck out with his palm, the sorcerer who tried to break through the formation was sent flying backward, spitting blood. Before another sorcerer could even cast a spell, he was pierced through the heart by a flying sword from Master Minglun!

A high-pitched dragon roar resounded, and a five-clawed golden dragon coiled above the shadowy corpse of the eight-headed serpent. The old man who was controlling it also coughed up blood and collapsed to the ground unconscious!

"Five Thunder Palms"!

Chen Cheng struck again, sending a sorcerer who was trying to cast a spell flying. The sorcerer fell to the ground, bleeding from his mouth and nose, clearly beyond saving. Chen Cheng's current magical abilities were enough to kill a ghost king on his own, let alone a living person!

The remaining two Japanese sorcerers felt a chill run down their spines upon seeing this. They were among the top sorcerers in Japan, especially Saito Binpu, the old man who controlled the Yamata no Orochi, who was a national treasure. Yet, he was defeated by this group of Chinese Taoists. Disheartened, they chose to kneel and surrender.

Enraged, Chen Cheng disregarded all code of conduct and, being a junior, charged forward and began punching and kicking the two kneeling Japanese sorcerers. He didn't use any magic, but rather delivered blows with raw force, finding pleasure in retaliating against these beasts!

Only when the two men were beaten black and blue and on the verge of death did Jingyang Zhenren finally speak up to stop him.

Even as Chen Cheng stopped, he didn't forget to kick one of them twice!

Ling'er had already flown back into Chen Cheng's bracelet. The scene quieted down. Those ghosts had long since vanished into thin air. Only a few corpses, two Japanese sorcerers who had been beaten like stray dogs, and the culprit Saito Binbu were left unconscious. The defeated and dead Orochi phantom had exhausted his primordial spirit. When he woke up, he would probably become an ordinary old man. Even if he was crippled, he would still have to accept the judgment of China!

Although the mission was difficult, it was a great success. Apart from Master Cheng Yunzi suffering a minor injury, everyone else was unharmed, though they showed signs of fatigue. To completely eliminate any hidden dangers, the group carefully inspected the temple inside and out to ensure that no one had escaped. Master Jingyang, Master Zijin, and Master Wuxiang each held a talisman, lit it with Taoist energy, and shot it into the statue of the Japanese evil god enshrined in the temple's main hall. Instantly, a great fire broke out, and then the entire temple building was engulfed in flames!

Seeing the raging fire, everyone sat cross-legged and closed their eyes to rest. It wasn't until 5:30 AM, when a sliver of dawn appeared in the east, that Chen Cheng opened his eyes. The Japanese temple before him had been reduced to ruins. A surge of Heavenly Dao power swirled above his head and entered his body. This power was greater than any before. The power within his dantian welcomed it with the warmth of a family member. Chen Cheng felt incredibly light and full of energy, as if his Daoist techniques had advanced further. He was overjoyed. It seemed that doing great things was the fastest way to accumulate experience and power! However, he still needed to catch the minor demons and monsters; no good deed is too small to be neglected! Like this time, he originally intended to deal with the hanged ghost, but unexpectedly, he caught such a big fish!

Through this joint battle, the other Taoist masters acknowledged Master Jingyang's assessment of Chen Cheng. This young man indeed possessed limitless potential in Taoist magic. At such a young age, he already had the ability to slay a ghost king on his own. Moreover, he was meticulous, humble, and eager to learn. Whether speaking or acting, he was always measured and composed, unlike some of the younger generation of Taoists who, despite their limited abilities, were arrogant and servile towards those of higher status, while looking down on those less capable, displaying an attitude of "I am the greatest in the world!"

Master Zijin was particularly fond of him and secretly taught him a Taoist incantation: the Thunder-Summoning Incantation! It was the incantation for the group to summon heavenly lightning together, but it was extremely taxing on a beginner's mental energy. Chen Cheng bowed respectfully to Master Zijin to express his gratitude. In fact, Chen Cheng knew this incantation; his master also knew it. However, he was too young at the time, and his mental energy was not enough to support the consumption of summoning heavenly lightning. Therefore, he planned to teach him when he grew up.

Master Qianhe also secretly taught him his own unique skill: Paper Crane Tracking!

Although this technique also consumes mental energy, it is extremely practical. It can be used to find ghosts and monsters, and even to find people as long as you have their birth date and time. It is truly a profound Taoist technique!

However, Master Qianhe repeatedly instructed Chen Cheng not to easily pass on this Taoist technique, as he only taught it to him because he admired him so much. After Chen Cheng performed the junior's greeting, he earnestly assured him with the Taoist ritual that he would never pass it on to anyone, which put Master Qianhe at ease.

Master Jingyang then quietly told him that when he had time, he would take him to Longhu Mountain and have the Grand Celestial Master invite a guardian beast to ride on his back!

Chen Cheng was taken aback, and immediately remembered that incomparably domineering golden dragon!

Saliva instantly streamed down my face.
