Chapter 66 - Chapter 5 – Primordial Stars (2)

Part 2

After a blinding flash, the three women arrived in a large, warm garden surrounded by beautiful flowers.

Near them, another elegant woman was sitting while drinking tea, dressed the same as them. Her long golden hair swayed in the warm breeze. Finally, she looked at them with annoyance.

"Have you all gone crazy?"

"What are you doing bringing that human to this sacred place?"

"You can't interfere with their world unless they ask you to..." she said, clearly upset.

Risa, the smallest of the three, walked up to her and slapped her hard.

"Why don't you shut up, damn it?! This is all your fault!"

The woman simply turned her gaze toward the young star with a defiant expression.

"Risa... leave her. She doesn't understand how serious her decision was..." Nina said calmly.

The little girl turned around without stopping to point at that woman.

"Don't try to defend her, Nina! If this idiot hadn't given up her authority, we wouldn't have had to break the rules!"

Then she faced her again with hatred.

That woman only looked at her with contempt.

Like someone looking at a cockroach missing one of its legs.

"Isn't that right, Celestia? Say something, damn it!"

"Unlike you, I did what I had to do... That girl was the last of my people."

"You wouldn't understand... The world didn't even know you existed..." Celestia added with a cold gaze.

Just as Risa was about to hit her again, Lyla grabbed her arm.

"It's not worth it... She doesn't even admit that she betrayed humanity, but above all, her own sisters..." Lyla said as she looked at Celestia with pity.

"Pff... Hahaha..."

Celestia burst into laughter.

"I can't believe you broke the Heavenly Mandate because you were jealous of me."

Risa kicked the table beside Celestia, sending the tea set and the food flying across the ground.

"You're lucky I can't kill you right now... Because of you... Jenis..."

The young girl lowered her head. The memory of her sister's light fading away filled her with sadness.

"Why don't you try, brat? This is your chance..."

Risa clenched her fists in rage under the indifferent gaze of her older sister.

"That's enough... Sisters shouldn't fight."

A little girl, identical to the rest, appeared as she hugged Celestia.

"Tch..."

Annoyed, Risa turned around and walked away with the others.

Another woman appeared and stood beside Celestia and the little girl.

"So, what are you planning to do with that human?" the newcomer asked.

Lyla looked at Kazuki, who was still asleep, while Nina continued treating his wounds.

"Jazmin... I see you and Rosa have finally taken Celestia's side. What a shame."

The woman shook her head.

"You're mistaken. I'm on my sisters' side."

"Jenis entrusted her seven fragments to the elves who worshipped her. Celestia entrusted her seven fragments to her people... Each of them acted according to the rules that were established."

"Jenis's death was the elves' fault because they never returned her fragments... Not Celestia's."

Lyla bit her tongue, trying to hold back her anger.

"You have no right to lecture us."

"Yoru's chosen people need our help, even if it means breaking the rules."

"Are you sure you want to go through with this? Is this really your wish?" Jazmin asked firmly.

Lyla, Nina, and Risa looked at her with absolute determination.

"Yes. We'll help humanity."

"The Void Lord is far too dangerous. He must be stopped."

Celestia, gently stroking little Rosa's hair, spoke without even looking up.

"If you keep thinking that way... you'll die..."

She paused for a moment.

"We'll all die."

**************

Yamato walked across the battlefield. The bodies of Valheim's soldiers lay scattered everywhere, while blood stained the ground.

Some monsters were still feeding on the remains of those men under the young man's emotionless gaze.

His face showed no emotion, but he couldn't stop thinking about everything before him.

Nebel appeared beside him in his ethereal form.

"What are you thinking about, Yamato?"

"I was just thinking about these poor souls... and whether all of this is really worth it."

"Ohhhh... How interesting... A crack of doubt? Or is it guilt?"

Yamato stopped and looked up at the sky.

"I just think they didn't deserve an end like this... They were just men following orders."

"I understand why your young mind would dwell on such trivial things. After all, correcting a world that has been rotting for centuries means staining your hands with innocent blood."

Yamato looked forward again.

"I guess you're right."

He paused for a moment.

"Besides... they were the ones who invaded our land."

At that moment, Yamato's communicator went off.

"Holo! Yamatooo!"

"Do you have something to report, Sera?"

"Yup! The fluctuations in Mermur are back to normal!"

"So that means Lina and Selka defeated Kazuki, right?"

"..."

"Mmm... I can't be sure..."

For the first time, a faint trace of concern appeared on Yamato's face.

"What do you mean?"

"I still can't establish contact with them. But according to the monitoring system, their vital signs are still normal..."

"I see..."

He stayed silent for a few seconds before replying.

"Boss?"

"Get the plane ready and inform the others."

"I'm heading to Mermur."

"Right away, Yamatooo!"

The young man immediately turned around. His steps were firm and resolute. In just an instant, the doubts that had followed him vanished like mist.

Anyone who dared set foot in the Void's territory...

Would be corrected.
