Chapter 89 - Trip

The air buzzed with excitement as the group gathered near the college gate, bags packed, spirits high. The tournament victory had been a defining moment, and with the academic year coming to an end, Wick's spontaneous trip idea had been met with unanimous enthusiasm.

"Finally! A trip without gang fights, college drama, or professors breathing down our necks!" Deep stretched his arms with a satisfied grin.

"Unless you count Wick," Dev smirked, nudging Shreekant. "He is the new drama."

Wick, leaning against his bike with arms crossed, raised an eyebrow. "And you still chose to come."

"Peer pressure," Dev shot back, making the group laugh.

The mini-bus pulled up, the driver honking impatiently. Everyone began loading their bags, chattering excitedly.

The bus was rented by Wick and Aryan, making sure no random people would witness the chaos about to unfold.

A Moment for Wick and Shristi

Shristi was standing at a distance, adjusting the strap of her bag when Wick strolled over. His usual smirk was in place, but his eyes held something softer.

"Excited?" he asked, leaning in slightly.

Shristi rolled her eyes. "You mean about traveling with a bunch of lunatics? Absolutely."

Wick chuckled. "Then maybe I should cancel."

She shot him a glare. "Don't even think about it."

He tilted his head, watching her with amusement. "Good. Because I have plans for us."

Shristi narrowed her eyes. "What kind of plans?"

Instead of answering, Wick took her bag from her shoulder, effortlessly throwing it over his. "You'll find out."

A warmth spread through her chest at his gesture. Wick's way of caring was subtle, wrapped in his usual arrogance, but she could always tell when he was being genuine.

Just then, Aryan shouted, "Stop flirting and get in already!"

And just like that, the trip had officially begun-with laughter, teasing, and a hint of something electric in the air.

The backseats were occupied by the four couples, while the front and middle seats were taken by Annu, Ayesha, Dev, and Shreekant, who were already regretting their choice of traveling with this chaotic bunch.

The night air was cool, the highway stretched endlessly, and the trip was about to take a turn no one expected.

Aryan and Dipanshu were debating over the best seats, Kritika and Sonal were busy with last-minute packing checks, and Annu and Ayesha were discussing their playlist.

"Alright, who's driving first?" Dipanshu asked.

Everyone went silent.

Shristi frowned. "Wait, we don't have a driver?"

Wick smirked. "Why do you think we got a private bus?"

Aryan stood up dramatically. "I shall take the wheel!"

"NO!" the entire bus yelled.

Varsha grabbed his arm. "Aryan, last time you tried driving, you almost ran into a temple cow!"

Dipanshu sighed. "Fine, I'll drive."

Twenty minutes later...

Dipanshu was speeding like they were in a Fast & Furious movie.

"DUDE, THE BUS IS NOT A RACE CAR!" Kritika screamed.

"WE'RE GOING TO DIE!" Ayesha clutched Annu.

Meanwhile, Wick and Shristi sat completely unaffected, as if they were on a date instead of a near-death experience.

Shristi, sipping her coffee: "I mean... I trust Dipanshu's skills."

Wick, relaxed: "Yeah, the real question is, do you trust me?"

Shristi narrowed her eyes. "Why? What are you planning?"

Wick smirked, suddenly getting up.

"WICK, DON'T-"

He took over the wheel mid-drive.

The bus SWERVED, everyone screamed, and Aryan threw his shoe at Wick.

"ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL US?!" Dev shouted.

Wick just grinned, driving effortlessly.

Shristi, glaring: "PUT BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL, YOU PSYCHO!"

Wick: "Aww, you're worried about me?"

Shristi: "I'M WORRIED ABOUT MY LIFE!"

But shockingly... he was actually a good driver. Within minutes, the ride stabilized.

Dipanshu sat back, stunned. "Well, damn."

Varsha blinked. "Wick, since when can you drive like that?"

Wick smirked. "Since I had to run from cops once."

Dead silence.

Aryan: "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!"

Later Dev handled the bus.

Shristi, already tired: "Don't ask. He'll actually answer."

---

The Chaos Begins

"Okay, rules of the road trip," Aryan announced from the front seat, standing dramatically. "Rule number one-no sleeping until we reach our first stop!"

"You're saying that now," Dev muttered, leaning against the window. "Give it two hours, and you'll be snoring louder than the engine."

"Rule number two!" Aryan continued, ignoring him. "No depressing songs. This is a happy trip!"

"Who hurt you, man?" Shreekant laughed.

"Varsha," Aryan deadpanned, making everyone burst into laughter while Varsha smacked his arm playfully.

"Hey! Heartbreak songs are a vibe!" Dev protested.

Ignoring the protests, Aryan hit play, and the bus was soon filled with energetic beats. The vibe was infectious-Dipanshu and Sonal were already swaying to the music, Kritika and Deep were arguing over window space, and Shreekant was trying to nap despite the chaos.

"Rule number three," Wick added from his seat, smirking, "Shristi sits next to me. Non-negotiable."

Shristi, who had just taken a seat beside Ayesha, turned her head sharply. "Excuse me?"

Wick raised an eyebrow. "Do you want me to carry you here?"

The entire bus erupted in hoots and whistles. Shristi glared at him but, instead of getting up to sit beside him, she did something no one expected-she walked over to him and, before Wick could react, plopped down onto his lap.

A stunned silence filled the bus. Even Wick, who was usually unshakable, froze.

Shristi smirked, tilting her head. "You said I should sit with you. Didn't specify where."

A chorus of "OH DAMN!" and "WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!" filled the vehicle.

Deep laughed. "Wick, how does it feel to be outplayed?"

Wick's smirk returned, his hands settling on her waist with ease. "Bold move, Angel. But I hope you realize-you're not getting off now."

Shristi gasped slightly when he pulled her closer, but before she could react, Aryan clapped his hands loudly. "Alright, alright! Enough romance! Let's move on before we have to start looking away!"

Shristi quickly got off his lap, her cheeks flushed, but she noticed Wick looking far too pleased with himself.

"You're insufferable," she muttered under her breath.

"And yet, here you are," he whispered back.

Moments later...

Wick casually stretched his legs out, brushing against Shristi's. "Comfy?" he asked, watching her with a smirk.

Shristi shot him a sideways glance. "Are you planning to flirt the entire trip?"

"Depends," Wick said, his voice dropping slightly. "Are you planning to resist the entire trip?"

Shristi's breath hitched, but she quickly masked it with an eye roll. "Unbelievable."

Wick chuckled, clearly enjoying himself. He leaned in, his voice low enough for only her to hear. "Relax, Angel. We have a long way to go."

Before she could retort, Aryan's voice boomed from the front, "Okay, time for a fun game! Never Have I Ever-bus edition!"

A collective groan filled the vehicle, but everyone agreed. The trip wouldn't be fun without a little mischief.

Chaos Ensues - "Never Have I Ever"

Aryan started. "Never have I ever... cheated on an exam!"

Half the bus groaned and took imaginary sips from their water bottles.

"Wick, you actually drank? You cheat?" Shreekant asked, amused.

Wick shrugged. "Only once. For a physics test. Didn't feel like wasting time solving the questions."

Shristi gasped dramatically. "I knew it! You're not as perfect as you pretend to be."

Wick leaned closer. "You like me flawed, don't you?"

Shristi turned away, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a reaction.

The game continued, filled with laughter and embarrassing confessions.

Wick simply leaned back, stretching his arms behind his head, a smug smile on his face.

---

The game started with harmless confessions-cheating on exams, sneaking into the principal's office, or skipping classes. But things got interesting when Dipanshu smirked.

"Never have I ever... kissed someone in this bus."

Silence.

Shristi turned towards the window, pretending not to hear. Wick, on the other hand, was unfazed. He reached for Shristi's water bottle and took a sip.

Gasps filled the bus.

"WICK ACTUALLY DRANK?!" Kritika exclaimed.

"WAIT. WHAT?" Dev almost jumped out of his seat.

Shristi's eyes widened in horror as all attention turned to her.

"You guys kissed?" Ayesha's jaw dropped.

Aryan burst out laughing. "And here I thought you guys were just doing intense staring contests!"

Shristi turned toward Wick, completely flustered. "You did not just-"

Wick, entirely unbothered, leaned back against the seat. "What? I followed the rules."

"That was a private moment!" she hissed.

"Not anymore," Wick smirked.

Shristi, thoroughly embarrassed, smacked his arm. "You are the worst."

Wick just chuckled. "I'm yours."

The bus was now filled with teasing and whistles, while Shristi covered her face in embarrassment.

"Wait, wait, WAIT!" Varsha interrupted, still processing. "Are we talking real kiss, or are we talking about...?"

Wick smirked. "Relax, it was just a kiss on the cheek and forehead."

The bus let out a collective sigh of relief.

"Oh, thank god. For a second, I thought-" Kritika started but then Aryan took a sip from his bottle.

All eyes snapped to him.

"ARYAN?!" Dev yelled.

"Bro!" Dipanshu clapped his hands. "YOU TOO?"

Varsha's face turned crimson as everyone started shouting.

"Dipanshu," Sonal muttered, "should we also...?"

Dipanshu grinned and took a sip. Sonal followed.

Then Deep drank. Kritika groaned and did the same.

It took a second before the realization sank in.

"WAIT A DAMN MINUTE!" Annu pointed at them. "All of you have kissed your partners?! This trip just got a lot more interesting."

Varsha buried her face in her hands while Aryan just shrugged. "I mean, what did you expect? We're not monks."

The laughter continued as Shristi shook her head at Wick. "This is all your fault."

"And I'm all yours," he whispered teasingly.

Shristi had no comeback for that.

---

To distract from the fact the situation, Aryan declared:

"IT'S TIME FOR A COUPLE CHALLENGE!"

"Rules are simple!" Dipanshu announced. "Each couple competes in three rounds, and the winning couple gets a special prize."

Round 1: The Whisper Challenge

Aryan & Varsha - Failed because Aryan kept whispering flirty nonsense instead of the actual words.

Wick & Shristi- Almost won but Aryan misheard "candlelight dinner" as "camel fight winner."

Deep & Kritika - Won because they actually followed the rules.

Round 2: The Hold-Your-Laugh Battle

Shristi lost immediately because Wick whispered, "Imagine Aryan as a bald monk."

Dipanshu & Sonal won because Sonal has nerves of steel.

Final Round: The Ultimate Trust Challenge (One partner blindfolded, the other guides.)

Wick blindfolded Shristi and made her walk straight into his arms.

Shristi ripped the blindfold off and smacked him.

Aryan accidentally led Varsha into a bush.

Deep & Kritika won again because they actually took it seriously.

Deep, smirking: "We are the superior couple."

Wick, to Shristi: "Want to prove them wrong?"

Shristi, rolling her eyes: "Don't drag me into your ego battles."

---

They stopped at a deserted roadside café at 2 AM, the only ones there.

Shristi stood by the railing, staring at the moonlit sky, finally getting some peace.

Until Wick appeared.

"Still mad about earlier?" he asked casually.

Shristi exhaled. "You drive like a criminal and set me up in a losing challenge. Of course, I'm mad."

Wick smirked. "I'll make it up to you."

Shristi: "Oh really? How?"

Wick: "Bet you I can make your heart race in five seconds."

Shristi scoffed. "Try me."

Wick stepped closer, caging her against the railing. His voice dropped low. "Are you sure about that?"

Her breath hitched.

Oh no.

Shristi tried to hold her ground. "Nice try, Wick. Not working."

Wick, amused: "Your ears are turning red, Angel."

Shristi: "SHUT UP."

Wick chuckled. "I win."

Before she could argue, the group called them back.

Shristi walked off first, but Wick?

He just stood there, smirking, because he had already won.

---

Back on the bus, things escalated:

Aryan stole the mic and started rapping badly.

Ayesha made Dev and Shreekant do a "Who Can Eat Spiciest Chips?" challenge. (They both lost.)

Shristi fell asleep on Wick's shoulder.

Wick didn't wake her up, just wrapped his jacket around her.

As the sun began rising, the bus continued toward their destination, filled with laughter, teasing, and the beginning of something unforgettable.

And Wick?

He just smiled to himself, knowing this trip had only just begun.

Hours passed, and the bus made a stop at a small roadside café. The group stretched their legs, some ordering chai and snacks while others took in the cool night air.

Shristi stood near the railing, sipping her tea when Wick walked up beside her.

"Still mad?" he asked casually.

She didn't look at him. "Mad isn't the right word. More like mortified."

Wick chuckled. "Come on, Angel. They were going to find out eventually."

She sighed, finally turning to him. "You're impossible, you know that?"

"Yeah," he said, stepping closer. "But you love it."

Shristi opened her mouth to argue, but the way he was looking at her-calm, confident, with that hint of mischief-made her heart race.

She looked away, pretending to focus on the moonlit sky. "You're lucky I don't push you off this railing."

Wick smirked. "I'd survive. But you'd miss me."

And for the first time that night, Shristi didn't deny it.

---

Back on the Bus - Late Night Talks

As the journey continued, the excitement died down, replaced by a comfortable silence. Most of the group had fallen asleep, with couples leaning against each other.

Deep and Kritika were cuddled up near the window. Aryan had his arm around Varsha, who had dozed off. Dipanshu and Sonal were whispering quietly, lost in their own world.

Shristi leaned against the seat, her eyes growing heavy. Wick, beside her, noticed.

"Tired?" he asked softly.

"A little," she murmured.

Without another word, Wick shifted slightly and pulled her toward him. Before she could protest, he guided her head onto his shoulder.

"Sleep," he said. "I'll wake you when we reach."

Shristi hesitated, then sighed and let herself relax against him.

"You're annoying," she mumbled sleepily.

"And yet, here you are," Wick whispered, amusement laced in his voice.

Shristi didn't respond. Within moments, she was asleep, her breathing soft and even.

Wick glanced down at her, a rare, genuine smile touching his lips. He tightened his hold around her just slightly before resting his head back, letting the soft hum of the road lull him into silence.

As the mini-bus continued down the highway, carrying them toward adventure, laughter, and love, the night wrapped around them like a promise-of memories waiting to be made.

To be continued...
