For a moment, neither the two of them moved.
"T-that's a lot…" Mara whispered in a low voice that was barely audible.
Gray, too, couldn't help but nod at her. He pressed his lips together and stared more at the stack of money in front of them. The stack of money was at least 2 feet tall.
"G-Gray," Mara slowly tapped Gray's shoulder as if she had to make sure that he was still there with her.
Gray shook his head slowly. He swallowed as he reached out to part the stack of money. He wanted to see how deep it actually was inside.
When he saw that there were more than 10 stacks of it, he became slightly speechless.
"This is more than I expected."
Mara let out a short, breathless laugh.
"You're right," she muttered. "This is actually insane."
Mara took a step closer. She crouched slightly just to get a better look at it. Her eyes scanned the inside of the safe like she was trying to make sense of it.
