Chapter 9 - Nirmann of the Peacock

On the edge of a cloud, a woman sat spinnig a piece of gold wool into a long piece of golden thread. She lived just beside the sunset, where golden flocks of sheep would gather to feast on the golden grass in the sky, giving way for the moon to rise. Each morning she would collect wool frrom the sheep to complete her ball of yarn. As she span the wool, years turned into days, then month, then years. After a century of spinning wool, a piece of the yarn dipped into a long flowing river. As the river's waters washed over the piece of yarn, the yarn began to turn a deep turquoise color. As the woman continued to spin wool to yarn, the yarn began to bundle up in the river, until it eventually filled the river and began sipping out onto dry land. The piece of yarn that fell onto the dry land was stepped on by small creatures passing by, and became a deep green color like the grass it lay on. Soon, the piece of yarn began to grow until it stretched across the earth, reaching a snowy region. The piece of yarn was covered by the snow, and soon turned to a pale white color. Far on the other side of the region, there were two dull grey birds feasting on small insects and plants. As the woman continued spinning wool, the yarn stretched until it reached the nest where the two birds were feeding their young. Despite the birds dull color, they had large majestic feathers that they used to cover their nests protecting their young. As the yarn approached the birds nest, the birds opened their wings to shield their young from the huge piece of wool. As the wool brushed onto the bird's wings, it dyed them all sorts of hues. As the yarn passed over the nest it sipped through the birds wings and also colored the young of the birds. When the woman had finished spinning the yarn, she began to bundle it up collecting it into a single ball, which she then spread across the sky leaving it colored in hues of gold , orange , purrple and blue. Because the sky was so similary colored like the birds, the birds were cursed to never touch the sky again. And so,though the woman had beautifully gifted the creatures, causing them to be drastically more beautifull than any of their other species she had taken the only thing that made them complete. Their freedom.
