And somewhere deep inside, he had always believed that he could never truly become as close to his family as biological siblings could be.
The two men fell silent. Neither of them wanted to admit what they were thinking. Then Annie suddenly looked in their direction.

Both men immediately straightened. Annie pointed between them. "Who do you think is in the wrong?"
Annie's brother and Felix immediately raised their hands. "We don't know."
Their expressions were remarkably serious. Internally, however, both of them were thinking the exact same thing.
'We absolutely refuse to get involved in this.'
They knew Annie too well.
If they took Annie's side, Gwen would be furious. If they took Gwen's side, Annie would be furious.
And if both sisters became angry with them, they would be the ones suffering afterward.
Therefore, the safest choice was obvious. They would remain completely neutral.
So, neither of them dared to act arrogantly or take anyone's side.
